Sweet memories are made of these – a rich Nutella milkshake walled in by smears of Nutella and capped overhead by fluffy vanilla mousse, in which salt-embellished pretzels perch; accompanied by a sugar-dusted donut filled with orange Earl grey cream on the side.

Pretzella ($14) is simply intense chocoholism with crunchy pretzels and fattening whip cream - me having a second freakshake in a month. Really glad to have foodie friends like Bei that's willing to go eat on a weekend aft her shag training :O looking forward to more foodie adventures with the rest too!!! Photo Cr: @_hohomustache

The freak shakes were impressive but the mains were less than stellar.

Almost turned into a Godzilla while drinking the Pretzella Freakshake here @patissezsg!
The saltiness and crunch of the pretzels provided a great balance to the sweetness of the Nutella chocolate shake. However, priced at $16, the boy and I felt that it was a tad too pricey and not very impressive, considering the other Over-the-Top shakes that we've tried. We would have preferred more toppings on this!

Riding on the crazy shake trend, Pâtissez, the pioneer of massive milkshakes is here to introduce their signature Freakshakes. Lined with crunchy salty-sweet pretzels and Nutella at the rim of the mug, Pretzella is a nutellary nutella treat topped with vanilla mousse and …. you guess it, even more pretzels. You would expect it to be cloy and intense but was surprisingly balanced instead, with the salty snacks cutting through the decadent concoction.

Crowned with torched home-made marshmallow and chocolate fudge brownie, Muddy Pat is dedicated to the chocolate lovers who seeks an explosion of chocolate goodness.

If you're in need of some serious sugar high to get you through Monday, these outta hit the spot. Apparently the first to introduce "Freakshakes" to the world, Patissez has brought 4 of these insane (OTT as we know them) milkshake creations to our shores. You're looking at the Mint Condition, Muddy Pat, Sneaky Freak, and Pretzella. Absolutely adorbs names aside, these aren't actually too bad! Not as insanely sweet as they look without sacrificing on taste. Being a huge PB fan, Sneaky Freak's definitely got my vote (insanely rich PB!). Nutella and mint fans would like their renditions too, cause the flavours really really shine through.

Canberra's famed (and aptly named) Freakshakes have finally reached our shores. Set in Raffles Holland V, the new building across the road from Holland Village, Patissez will win sugarholics over with their over the top milkshakes. Choose from four creations, all stunning, sweet and absolutely delish — just be sure to save it for cheat days! For the uninitiated, go easy on your sweet tooth with the Pretzella ($16) — Nutella shake, vanilla mousse, pretzels and lots and lots of Nutella. The salty crunch of the pretzels add a much welcomed savoury dimension to this drink (or should we say dessert?). Apart from sweets, this joint also serves up some tasty mains like their Freak Burger ($25), so make a long brunch out of this visit. Just be sure to share the shakes.
