Brisket Bowl

I was really surprised by the quality I got from Kin Cow and the level of customization you can do to your bowl. I added Tendon on top and went with the Mee Pok option. The beef was so soft and the gravy worked well with the noodles, slightly β€œjeelat” after a while but still shiok enough!

Curry was pretty good and luckily just short of being too rich and the portion of meat is so generous!
Unfortunately, although it uses the same beef brisket as the pad see ew ($11.90++, very similar to char kway teow, but sweeter) it is more tough, probably due to the soaking in the curry! I will try the pad see ew next! It is for for those who like a heavier taste! Also the beef brisket in this dish is so tender!
If you like like it light, don't worry! The soup noodles are for you 😁
Kailan with pork belly also deserves a mention. I don't usually like kailan, but this is really nice! Not too tough and cooked just nice 😊

Earlier this month, they launched their Beef hotpot ($55 for 2 pax or $88 for 4 pax) which contains a huge (refillable) pot of beef broth, filled with beef balls, tripe, beef brisket, beef tendon & morning glory (Kang Kong). On top of that, you get a side of sliced short rib & sliced sirloin for you to dip & cook! You can also choose a carb, either fragrant rice or noodles (I suggest the Thai kwayteow or tanghoon) & it's free flow!! Top up another $10 & you get the hot plate as well, and another portion of meat for you to fry!
Grab your troops for this one beefy good meal πŸ₯˜

Our server warned us that the famous beef brisket ($11.90) was unfortunately a bit hard that day as it just came out of the fridge, so I opted for the Short Ribs noodle soup ($12.90) instead. Slices of shabu shabu beef that were just slightly pink, with your choice of noodles (and they had plenty!). The highlight definitely had to be the soup which had the right balance of savory and herbs, though I felt it was too oily and should've opted out of pork lard. #burpple

This unassuming restaurant serves fantastic beef inspired dishes. The meaty chunk of brisket had a good balance of meat and fat. Well seasoned and literally falls apart in the mouth.

The soup is exceptionally sweet, probably from long hours of stewing meat and vegetables. At $10.90 a bowl this was definitely worth it!

Beef Brisket Bowl ($10.90)

Newly opened @kincowsg makes ordering a breeze by letting you just choose the particular beef cut you fancy, your preferred noodles and whether you want it soup or dry. I went with the meatiest option and was not disappointed. Double-braised thick brisket slices were aplenty in the ginormous bowl of soup which veered a little more than I would like to the sweet side. Just top some chilli powder to fix this! Blanched kangkong and 2 beef balls were also included in the bowl. Also added a portion of the soft and tender tendon at $3!

I was quite pleased to have ordered egg noodles to go with the dry version as the housemade seasoning was on point and flavourful. Careful with your noodle choice though as some are best consumed in the soup! Regardless, since either way you get a big bowl of soup, I would strongly recommend the dry version and if it is not up your alley, just dunk it into the soup bowl😜!

We tried the soup and the dry versions, and also 4 different kind of meats. Think the unanimous decision was that the Brisket Bowl Noodles Soup (which is also the cheapest at $10.90) is the most value. The Ribeye Bowl was also very nice, but it's $7 more. Both the short ribs and sirloin were quite tough. (Rating:πŸ˜€)
