Pizza Fries

Fish skin ($10) was good for sharing though it could use more seasoning, over time it just started to taste like the oil it was fried in. The Classic Carbonara ($20) was decent but was lacking in flavor amidst the cream base, more cheese may have done the trick. The Steak Rice Bowl ($30) was a huge disappointment, beef was chewy and the rice lacked any flavor apart from straight up butter, it was not a dish that entices you for more. We also ordered a Tokyo Sour ($13), an ‘okay’ cocktail that could’ve worked more on packing a punch.

If it weren’t for the Burpple beyond pass, the price of the entire meal would have just been ridiculously expensive compared to the quality received. The only hit was the fish skin while the rest were misses.

Would I give this restaurant another chance? Probably yes with their poké bowls/pizzas/burgers. Would I recommend it to my friends and family? Highly unlikely.

we got the chicken burger and shrimp aglio olio. both weren’t great! saving grace was that portions were big, especially for the burger which had a generous portion of curly fries. so come here if you are feeling very hungry :)

The double cheeseburger is an all-American (or so they proclaim on their menu) burger graced with a double beef patty, bacon ketchup, lettuce, tomato, gherkins AND CHEESE (not indicated on menu), that is served with crispy, thick-cut fries. There’s nothing to be excited about for the burger itself. While the star of the show—the double beef patty—came in an undeniably generous portion, being probably thrice the thickness of a Shake Shack beef patty, the patty was tougher than expected and definitely not as juicy as the latter. Though I did enjoy the special sauce (I assume it’s the bacon ketchup) that topped the burger very much. The fries were excellent, being fluffy on the inside but crispy on the outside. I’m also glad I asked for the tartar sauce from the Calamari [$16++] dish to accompany my fries in addition to the given ketchup. I don’t know what they added inside the sauce, but it’s divine.

Staff was very friendly and very accommodating to our requests, though they seem a bit short-handed. They quickly helped us use our ChopeVoucher (30% off from 11am to 6pm on Sat and Sun + More options), so definitely remember to book via Chope and grab a voucher before going if you intend to spend more than $50 (the minimum spend for reservations).

The standard fish and chips that came with buttered red tilapia fillet and fries. I felt that the ratio of flour to fish was pretty nice, and the fish tasted quite fresh too!

Good ambience & decent food.

Had to wait awhile for the salmon bowl and when it arrived, it defo looked kinda underwhelming for the time spent waiting for it (~20min?) because of how simple the bowl was — spinach, salmon, corn, lemon wedge & butter rice. But the butter rice made up for it, loved the creaminess of the rice!

Dbl cheeseburger came in a generous size as well with fries at the side. Only found out later on that we could have opted for curly fries just that the waiter didn’t inform us :(

Overall good experience & would come back again!

Serving up healthy poke bowls by day and indulgent bar grub by night, booze off into the night with craft beers, cheese burgers and pastas at this buzzy restobar in Esplanade Mall. Catch Burppler Coleats 🍟 raving about the Chicken Burger ($25), naming it "the best on the menu" with a fried Southern-spiced chicken thigh in 3 cheese sauce ranch stuffed in a fluffy burger bun and served with a side of curly fries. Other must-orders include the Classic Carbonara ($18), Salmon Rice Bowl ($25) and Fish n' Chips ($18).

Actually, there is a way to make pizza even more sinful, like in the case of 𝙋𝙞𝙯𝙯𝙖 𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 (~$14). The cheese clumped too quickly and they honestly COULD be more generous with the pepperoni, but this was as pizza-flavoured as they could make it 🍕🍟

Ig @goodfomood

Tried their pizza fries on my last visit, so went for a different option this time. Although not bad, but somehow felt like the fries i can get at kfc, just adding the chilli (which wasn't spicy) and thus not really worth the price :( Would stick to their pizza fries!

It has been about 4 years since I last visited alter ego omg!😫

This time when I went, I bought the Summer Sake Sangria Jug ($35), Truffle Fries($10) and Chicken and Mushroom Penne Pasta($17)

I would say the sangria is worth a try if you and your friends wanna get a refreshing drink that is slightly alcoholic😋 They were also generous with their truffle fries portion😳 I however still prefer the pizza fries haha.. Lastly the Pasta was bland but the chicken was not bad(I would not order it again though😅)

Ratings wise it was a 7/10 this time... Maybe I would try other things there next time instead of these three items so that my rating may be higher🤣

Cheese, pepperoni and garlic powder adorn this beauty at Alter Ego. These fries were delicious!
