This is definitely worth my calories, the salted egg is totally awesome.. Its creamy and the spice hits your tongue, the chicken is very soft and not those over fried and hard.

Definitely recommend people to order this dish.

Surprisingly, everyone was Indonesian!
Ok now to the main topic, their famous 🍳salted egg chicken rice🍗🍚
The sauce had the right texture, creamy but not too creamy. The salted egg flavor was notable, however, I think it’s a little too sweet and might need more curry leaves to get that curry ‘kick’. The chicken pieces were quite good, the batter decent.
Overall, I enjoyed it! If it were less sweet it would’ve totally been better!
Tip: if you want a fried egg in your rice set, you have to specify!

Ordered the favorite menu! It was good and the price was affordable. The price is $5.30 and add $0.5 if you want to have egg.

The sauce has a relatively more intense kick to it which makes the creaminess of it less obvious. Pretty decent

Never fail to get myself a portion of this whenever I’m here or in the area. Better so when topped with fried egg.

Although sometimes I wished they gave me just a tinge more sauce to go along with the rice

Just adored how creamy and rich the salted egg sauce was. The sauce was more on the sweet than the savoury side. Portioning of the dish was great too as the amount of fried chicken was almost 40-60 to the rice. Do add another $0.50 for a pretty sunny side up to further elevate the intense shiokness of the dish. Definitely good meal fix IMO if you are in the area, as evident by the crowd it attracts despite how empty the rest of the mall looks.

Price of $5.50 (including fried egg) was ok for the big portion. Just a personal preference, I prefer my sunny side up with a gooey yolk and dose of salted egg sauce on my rice.

In conclusion, i'm a bigger fan of the salted egg pork rib rice at Far East Plaza. As for taste good's? Taste ok lor.

A simple comforting meal of rice with salted egg chicken! This dish is seen on every table, in multiples (every single time I've been there.. So definitely legit)
Options to add a fried egg (+0.5) or even upgrade to get more chicken (+2.5) Needless to say, I always get the upgrade 😍😝 #burpple #burpplesg #tastegood #simlimsquare #singapore

This hole-in-a-wall zi char stall on the second floor of Sim Lim Square is a popular lunch spot for students and office workers in the area. Despite being probably the best salted egg chicken rice dish out there, it doesn't get much coverage on social media. That's good for you, because you don't have to fight the crowds to order their signature Salted Egg Chicken Rice ($5). While you might be tempted to go with the pork, this is the one place you should opt for chicken — it is far more tender and soaks up the salted egg sauce very well. Burpple Tastemaker Xing Wei Chua loves how the dish is served in a mini metal wok, "drenched in a creamy flavourful sauce, and that the chicken chunks are completely covered with salted egg goodness". Complete your meal with an addition of a runny sunny-side up egg ($0.50). There are two adjacent stalls solely dedicated for seating, but to secure a seat fast, we recommend coming in a small party — some to reserve the seats while the others order.
Avg Price: $10 per person

Decided to give this dish a try since I hadn't had any plans on where to dine in Bugis, and I have seen quite a number of recommendations here online.

Sure enough, the Salted Egg Chicken Rice is pretty well-executed here. Drenched in a creamy, flavourful sauce, the chicken chunks were completely covered with salted egg goodness that's completely distinct here. What managed to impress further was how they were able to stir-fry everything and let the fragrance of the chili and curry leaves shine alongside; something that some stalls just fail to achieve. Definitely worth the visit if you are looking for a dining option apart from the usual in the area.
