Located at International Plaza, @docosg sets themselves apart from the usual Donburi bowls by adding crispy fish sprinkles to their bowls. Lightly seasoned, the fish sprinkles was crisp and adds a nice crunch to the dish.
Get the best of all worlds with their ๐๐ก-๐ฆ๐๐ ๐ ๐๐จ๐ง๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข which comes with 3 choices of proteins along with 2 onsen eggs. For this bowl, I chose ๐๐๐ง๐ก๐๐ ๐ฝ๐ช๐ฉ๐ฉ๐๐ง ๐๐๐ง๐๐ข๐ฅ, ๐๐๐ญ๐๐ ๐๐ง๐ช๐๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ช๐จ๐๐ง๐ค๐ค๐ข and ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐๐ฎ ๐๐๐จ๐ค ๐พ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ฃ. As for ๐๐ก-๐ง๐๐๐ค ๐๐จ๐ง๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข, it comes with a generous amount of ๐๐ง๐๐ก๐ก๐๐ ๐ฝ๐๐๐ and an onsen egg. If you canโt decide which protein to go for, I highly recommend their Garlic Butter Shrimp as itโs very fresh and crunchy! Otherwise, their tender and thinly sliced Grilled Beef was delectable as well. If youโre not into meat, definitely go for their aromatic mixed truffle mushrooms.
If youโd like to pair your rice bowl with a bowl of warm soup or stew, head over to @hororoksg located just beside @docosg ! @hororoksg has recently launched a new korean stew - ๐๐๐-๐๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ง๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ ๐๐ฃ๐ข๐ ๐๐! Surprisingly, the stew goes very well with the rice bowl though I personally feel the stew could do with more flavor and ingredients.
As a no-frills and quick service small eatery, @docosg and @hororoksg are ideal for those who wish to grab a quick lunch in the CBD area.
At first glance, the food reminds me a lot of yoshinoya. They differentiate themselves with the fish skin. I love the different texture contrasts but I think I would have preferred it with some vegetables. Itโs all very rich and umami, need vegetables to cut it. But overall, delicious!
Garlic butter prawn, original fish skin, onsen eggย andย Japanese rice.
The garlic butter prawns were crunchy and plump and I love the crispy fish skin but it was a little salty, best to have it together with rice. The portion looks small but it is actually hearty and filling. They have very limited space for dine-in and most would have to takeaway their meals.
Thanks to Burpple Beyond,ย we get to enjoy 2 Donburi Set for the price of 1 whichย includesย a choice of donburi, miso soup and drink โ(U.P $16.90)
Nothing fantastic about DOCO but I like their beef and chicken don. Love the portion of the meal.
If you want to get your lunch fix ASAP, come and grab Doco's don.

Bought this 1-for-1 voucher during Chopeโs birthday so is actually $8.45 per pax!! The store itself is really small, with only 6 seats so when I arrived (at lunch hour, no less ๐คญ) there was already a queue and I could not get any seats but I was able to seat at the establishment located beside it selling Korean stews (which actl looks ๐คค)โ โ โ
Anyway, I had to wait ~15-20min for the food and when it first came, the plating made the donburi look so appetising but I was doubtful of the portion. However my concerns were for naught. I couldnโt even finish the entire thing OMG it was sneakily so filling!! โ โ
The donburi was intriguingโ juicy and succulent chicken thighs smothered in honey miso sauce accompanied with a side of lightly spiced crispy fish skin (!) and topped with a perfect onsen egg on a generous serving of fluffy short-grain rice with some seaweed furikake. The chicken was amazingโ every bite of the succulent thigh exploded with sweet and umami (thanks to the miso) notes which paired really well with the grassy, earthy seaweed rice. However, the crispy fish skinโ even though amazing on its ownโ completely overwhelmed the entire dish and I could only taste the Cajun seasoning. If only it was less dominant, it wouldโve been perfect. Itโs crunchy and umami, providing a spectacular textural contrast to the creamy rice (cuz I mixed the onsen egg in hehe). โ โ โ
Honestly, even though it was not bad, I canโt justify paying $16.90 for this especially when my tastebuds got overwhelmed by the Cajun fish skin (the dealbreaker). However, if there was another BOGO (buy one get one) promotion, I would definitely visit again.โ โ โ

*EDIT: okay I found out the dish is actually $9.90 instead which I feel is not bad esp arnd the CBD area!!โ

Place can only sit up to 6 dining pax. Only one lady was serving so there's waiting time. They ran out of rice so we topped up $1 for brown rice. I love the onsen egg, beef was well seasoned but prawns not as flavourful. Will be nice if they give choices for the flavours of the fish skin. Nice songs playing in store ๐
