Reviews of good food at Edge (Pan Pacific Singapore)

It was difficult to register the above as tiramisu because apart from lady finger and mascarpone, the other components were a far departure from the traditional Italian dessert. Nonetheless this was a paradoxically refreshing yet rich dessert that I liked; the tropical elements (I am unsure of the raspberries) were difficult to resist and I appreciated the mix of tart from the raspberries, creamy from coconut and sweet from mango and lychee. Concluding, it was not a groundbreaking dessert but yet more of a comforting one.

You can have this as the pre fixed dessert of the Edge Poolside new 4 course BBQ menu at a worth it price of $78++/pax.

I had this as part of an invited tasting; extending thanks to Burpple and Pan Pacific.

Probably a more commercial emblem of Pan Pacific would be their in-house made sausages that you can find at certain premium supermarkets. I’ve had them as a child and was delighted to find them as part of Edge’s buffet spread. I find the other grilled meat of good quality and taste as well; this was attested to when our table of 4 managed to clear most of the plate.

This was an invited tasting to Edge’s dinner buffet that has certain new elements installed this June. An ideal special occasion/ treat yourself option; thank you Burpple for the invite and Pan Pacific for hosting us!

Was all ready to fall off my chair after popping a cube of the knock out Rum Soft Chocolate in ma mouth, this is said in an absolutely positive tone. The melt in your mouth cube of strong rum and rich chocolate is something you should NOT leave Edge without trying. This was number one followed by the matcha soft chocolate and then the strawberry, that reminded me more if a pink fruit mochi.

Thank you Burpple for the invite and Pan Pacific for the warm hosting.

Another of my favourites at Edge is the above that our host Denise chirps “has never been taken off the buffet menu”. Nice plump crab (meat) cooked in the iconic chilli sauce. The restaurant’s rendition was promising. So go forth and remember to allow for a messy but delicious shellfish affair, local style, when at the Edge.

Come 5th June- Edge will have a double boiled soup station at their revamped dinner buffet ($78-88++). Nourishing Chinese soup at a buffet is a first for me (context: not a regular buffet eater). These are your hotel standard Chinese double boiled soup by the way- clear and packed with flavors from all the ingredients you can explore by scooping with your Chinese spoons. How .... Chinese 😂 (being Chinese I like to think I am entitled to “judge” my race).

This was an invited tasting kindly organised by Burpple and Pan Pacific Singapore.

The brand new Heritage Lunch on weekdays was launched on 19 March and diners can expect dishes like Sauteed Salted Egg Yolk Crispy Prawns, Lamb Tandoori, Crayfish Nonya Laksa, Capellini with Kombu and Nikujaga Beef Short Ribs on the buffet line. Be it a live station or the regular pitstop, you will definitely get your fill of quality food and an enjoyable gastromical experience. Since this is a heritage affair, expect a Peranakan spread of Tiger Prawns with Petai, Bakwan Kepitin and Chap Chye before stationing yourself at the dessert theatre for Durian Pengat and Mango Gateau. Prices start from $27.50 per child and $55 per adult.

If dinner is the time of the day to kickstart your desired feasting, look no further than the Edge’s revamped Dinner Buffet (starting from $39 per child and $78 per adult). The lineup from the lunch buffet will be given an enhanced upgrade in the seafood presentations and two new live stations will be opened to offer a selection of 8 different kinds of classic Double-boiled Soups and a theatrical display of Teh Tarik and Cendol with Durian Ice Cream. Furthermore, to whet your appetite before the mains, you can indulge in a variety of amuse bouche such as Truffle Scented Green Soba and Unagi with Confit Potato. The revamp also includes other dishes made available on the dinner buffet line which will definitely appeal to diners as they can savour food cultures from other nations but in a single location.

What protein loving/bulking individuals will deem as “tasty paradise”; premium meat cuts are seasoned and barbecued with a string of flavors. Paradoxically small meat eaters will appreciate the choice of meat for the platter, our portion of cod fish, tiger prawns, succulent chicken thigh, lean lamb chop were palatable options for the latter segment.

The above is part of Edge Poolside BBQ 4-course menu ($78++) that has a prefixed yet delightful component of welcome bread, appetisers, dessert. Apart from the 3 pre fixed courses is the 4th course which would be ..... unlimited portions of barbecued cuts on the stone plate! #unlimitedofthebest

This invited tasting opportunity was brought to you/me by Burpple and Pan Pacific 😛🙂

To be parked under my category of “exquisite local delights I’ve had”. When my first few bites enthralled me for more yet I couldn’t quite put my finger on what made this so good; our kind host for the evening, Denise nailed it when she beamed “these cakes are made from freshly squeezed pandan juice- no powder of any sort.”
Definitely something to look out for, amongst the sumptuous spread at Edge.

This was an invited tasting- big thank you to Burpple for the opportunity and Pan Pacific for hosting✨

CNY Festive Buffet Dinner - $92

Edge continue to dish out great international spreads and with the CNY festive dinner they even prepared DIY Yu Sheng station! Other than my favourite thick pieces of Salmon sashimi, the free flow baked baby lobster is also a joy to my tummy. Remember save some space for their delightful desserts

During the festive season, Edge came up with the Chinese New Year Lunch and Dinner buffets, which serves a variety of festive specials.

Say for example, they replaced their Rojak counter for diners to make their own Yu Sheng (just remember to get your fresh seafood from the seafood or Japanese food counters). There was even a pizza with Chinese sausage and Bak Kwa, roast suckling pig and Nian Gao (rice cake) dessert available at the buffet. At the same time, the favourites of the restaurant, such as Laksa, Chilli Crab, grill bar, Satay and Durian Pengat are still served.

My buffet dinner on a Monday night is priced at S$92.00 per pax, but honestly given the quality and variety of the buffet line-up, I strongly feel that the dinner was worth the splurge.

Strawberry Rhubarb
Bread & Butter Pudding
