Put this Halal joint on your to-go list for hand-pulled la mian in Funan Mall. Order the Vinaigrette Ebiko Prawn Paste Noodle ($13.90), which sees bouncy ebiko prawn paste and a lava egg in a thick, tomato-based broth. For something lighter, the clear Braised Wagyu Beef Noodle ($13.90) with tender beef slices should fit the bill. Pro-tip: The la mian is on a softer side here, so request for it to be less done if you prefer your noodz chewy!

The Wagyu Beef slices were tender and the beef bone soup is clear. However, the noodles was a disappointment. Ordered the small flat noodle type, it turns out soft (soggy). Not sure if the chef has overcooked it. It will be good if the noodles was al dente.

(S$13.90+)

The Ebiko prawn paste was super “Q” and the Ajitsuke egg was cooked to perfect. The tomato soup was thick but it didn’t get me surfeited after drinking the whole bowl. However, the noodle was a disappointment. I’ve chosen small flat noodle type and it turns out soft (soggy). Not sure if the chef has overcooked it. It will be good if the noodles is al dente.

Had to try this after seeing Ah Beng foodie’s post on FB! Sad to say - it fell short.

The hand pulled noodles will be good only if you like your noodles to be soft. I was expecting them to be like Haidilao’s 🤷🏻‍♀️ Other than the noodles not being al dente, the soup was also too thick. It’s more like a sauce - if you drink too much it’s quite overpowering. However the tomato taste was on point.

The only other redeeming point was the beef itself. It’s really tender and had just enough fats.

I would maybe still go back for this if I can ask them to make the noodles al dente :D

Highly recommended to try using burpple 1 for 1!
Wagyu beef slices were really tender and tomato soup was thick enough for my liking.
Noodles were hit and miss... my bowl (thick noodles) was alright but the other bowl (Kway teow like, broad noodles?) was soggy. Maybe remind the chef not to over cook? 🙈

Had the ebiko prawn paste noodle (normal) with tomato soup and braised wagyu beef noodle (Small flat) in beef broth soup! The tomato soup wasn't too thick for me, although the colour looks alarming orangey red. The ebiko prawn paste reminds me of le shrimp ramen's version (although that has more different prawn items than this). I liked that the egg was cooked ramen egg style! 1 for 1 with burpplebeyond so was worth it!
