Fancy a Chinese banquet at home? The best deal I’ve come across lately is from @famoustreasure. If you call the restaurant directly at 9730 7548 / 6881 6668 to order their Takeaway Menu, and pick the food up yourself (address: 13 Stamford Road, #02-27/29 Capitol Singapore, 178905), you enjoy a crazy-value 50% discount!
Having dined there before, I knew what I wanted for our family dinner.
The Braised Rice Vermicelli with Local Lobster and Leek in Superior Broth 上汤蒜子本地龙虾焖米粉 was at the top of my list and so was the Deepfried Marble Goby with “Cinchalok” Sauce. I was right to guess that the former would travel well since the noodles and crustacean were packed separately from the soup, and the latter which featured their signature funky-savoury-tangy-spicy sauce I’d had twice and enjoyed a lot, was also given the same treatment which helped retain the crunchiness of the fish. My parents and I enjoyed both dishes very much. They were particularly fond of the lobster noodle broth as it’s fragrant and concentrated in seafood richness. Thumbs up too for the large and uber fresh lobster with its firmly succulent meat.
I couldn’t not order Famous Treasure’s Roasted Honey BBQ Pork either as it has quite a reputation. And deservingly so, given that the fat-striped pork was very tender and the sticky black sauce it’s prepared with, finger-licking good. Luckily the restaurant gave a little more of it on the side.
Another Chinese restaurant must-have for my family is the Crab Meat with Fish Maw Soup soup. At only $10 a bowl if you do the order-direct-collect-yourself method (usual price: $20 per bowl), there was no way I was going to skip getting it.
Really, this ongoing promotion is quite wonderful. It would be a shame to miss.

Half duck ($40) ⭐️ 3.5/5 ⭐️
Squid ($20) ⭐️ 4.5/5 ⭐️
Fish Head Curry ($35) ⭐️ 4.5/5 ⭐️
🍴Quickly made reservations for #famoustreasure upon seeing their 50% off selected dishes (scroll to the end to see which is included). We all enjoyed the chewy squid that was deliciously fried with chinchalok (fermented shrimps) and lady finger. The #fishheadcurry was thick and rich in curry aroma while packing a spicy punch, and had a good amount of soft tender fish and vegetables. Comparatively, we were slightly disappointed with the Irish half duck. It was initially served somewhat cold but the staff helped to warm it up. While flavourful and paired well with the plum sauce, we found it a tad oily and the skin wasn’t crispy as expected. Overall, famous kitchen serves yummy elevated zichar dishes in a classy setting with impeccable service (that speed of topping up water and changing plates?!). Their food is relatively reasonably priced, and the promotion just makes it highly value-for-money (our bill came out to ~$15/pax!). It’s only till the end of Aug and we are already considering another visit during this promotion period.

A luxurious, hearty dish.
.
Over a mound of soft stewed Chinese cabbage and tender daikon radish is a variety of premium ingredients.
.
It includes crunchy broccoli florets, tender roasted duck, tender shiitake mushrooms, fresh juicy whole prawns / shrimp, crunchy pig's skin, soft stewed oysters, bouncy dried scallops, wispy black moss / fat choy / black hair vegetable, gelatinous sea cucumber chunks, and tender whole abalone.
.
This has deep robust earthy savoury sweet salty herbal vegetal flavours. Really filling.

Among the best roast ducks I've had in recent memory, I would return again just for this.
.
The duck has been beautifully roasted, with a crisp skin that crackles softly when bit, revealing the tender, moist duck meat beneath.
.
Between is a succulent layer of duck fat (which is easily removed if you choose). This has deep meaty savoury salty flavour which is nicely enticing.
.
Served with a rich sticky plum dipping sauce on the side, which I feel isn't necessary, as the roast duck is delicious on its own.

A unique fish dish.
.
The whole marble goby fish is fresh and clean-tasting, with delicate sweet savoury notes, and a tender moist flaky texture.
.
But the surprise is the gravy, infused with fresh spring onions, leeks, and the natural juices of the fish, giving it a lovely herbal sweet vegetal flavour. Good enough to drink.
