Fat Saigon Boy is truly a warm comforting place with good Vietnamese food!! I always can’t decide between the baguette and pho 🥰 baguette is SUPER crispy all the time coupled with juicy generous portion of nicely charred grilled pork! Also love the chicken pho - umami soup based with smooth chewy kuay teow noodles and the chicken is ALSO grilled and has the wok hey to it!!! Love the sides too - pulled pork nachos 😍 coffee abit sweet for me - never gotten it again since that one time
The Beef Eater Pho + Classic Pork & Prawn Rice Paper (2pcs)
Had this sometime back when I was still working in Science Park. My comfort food whenever I feel like I deserve a treat and a nicer lunch break 😝 Very big bowl of pho with generous amount of beef and soup. I’m a huge fan of Vietnam spring rolls and this was really fresh and tasty. Miss this place so much.
SUPER huge portion my tummy was bursting ogosh - i really enjoyed the charred chicken in the chick pho and the soup was flavourful (no msg after taste) but the pho became “nua” after 5-10 mins of eating, could be slightly overcooked :-( the side was good too!! Slightly too much vermicelli inside but I enjoyed the pork and prawn wrapped inside
So frigging good. It's the super moist kind and there's no alcohol inside so it's perfect for me. If u have stomach space after the generous mains, definitely get this. Pretty confident to have only 1 dessert item but damn rightfully so
Nice crunch from sth in the middle, tastes ok and the taco presentation was interesting
I think 10 on the menu, but it's written 5 on the receipt. But the beef Gyoza was full price so idk how it works exactly but there's definitely a discount
Basically this is spicy pulled pork except its not very spicy at all. Again it's one of those things thats seems very normal but is actually really satisfying. Meat was particularly tender tho and thats surprisingly as i usually expect slightly dry pulled pork.
So incredibly comforting. The confit duck and smoked duck were tender but otherwise nothing to shout about. Yet they worked so well in the pho. The soup wasnt full of duck flavour, yet somehow it was super good. Despite it being on the lighter Side, it was addictive as hell and i dont know why. Sometimes you have a dish that isnt impressive in any component, yet tgt they're so satisfying. Pair that with the duck skin crispies and you're set
This was decent but not as good as the rest. The portion is smaller than any other add on as well
30g. And it's good enough for its price. Has a bit of chew, but is really tender and the flavour is deep. Doesnt have that smokiness but is still v good, taste almost exactly like roast beef. My friend loved it
At this price, it's probably the most worth it add on. Crunchy and with a bite, the lack of tenderness is really a plus as it allows you to chew multiple times and savoury the crunch and the flavour. Really a steal at this price, considering it's probably at least half the portion of meat in the bun thit Nuong. The add on that u must get
Beef tenderloin which was pretty damn tender with some chew. Great texture, esp for its price, and there's a smokiness to it too. For 50g, this is a good add on
Its really surprising how a tweak in the ratio of components can yield such a dramatic change in taste. The mild hint of ginger and Mint aroma, combined with the unexpected body of honey, lead to a really easy to love drink
Double the price if u order Ala Carte.
Might be my first time trying vietnamese Coffee, and it has a very unique taste. Im inclined to call it a tang but it's much more complex than that. Anyway pretty dang good, would have ordered it too if we didnt have this at night
Decent pho but very generous portions (hand for evidence) Side bites like viet nachos highly reccomended!
Ordered the 1-1 dinner set under burpple beyond. They have quite a variety to choose from and I wished I had more than one stomach.
Not only is it value-for-money (thanks to their generous portion), it is also satisfying. I would say that although the fried spring roll tasted average and the summer rolls w/ nori was a tad bland (go for it if you want something lighter), I particularly enjoyed their pho. The pho tasted chewy and comforting, something you could eat to recharge after a long day.
The downside is prolly the location, but don’t let it stop you from going bcuz I would highly recommend trying their 1-1 dinner set!
Had the 1 for 1 burpple beyond deal. The Pho was amazing and very refreshing. The pork rice combo was okay as well.
For the sides, we got the spring rolls and the peking duck burrito. It was average.
A bonus is that they serve bundaberg ginger beer.
Overall, very good deal!!
This is so so good! And honestly, I’m a little bummed that it’s no longer available on Burpple Beyond 😔 But anyway! I love the portions here (really good portion for the price!) Their pho is good, but the main star of the meal would be their Viet Nachos! It was recommended by the server and it definitely lived up to its expectations! Scoop a generous serving of pulled pork and sauce with the cracker...and enjoy!

So full after the meal. Not bad except for the piece of salmon which was more on the dry side. The beef was quite tender. The coffee was rich and creamy.

#BurppleBeyond 1-1 Set Dinner
Little Miss Piggy + Fish Cake ($16)
Wagyo Pho + Classic Pork & Prawn Rice Wrap($16)
Went on a rainy evening and the hearty bowl of pho was the perfect dinner for the tummy. Servings were quite generous for both bowls and taste-wise was flavourful and comforting. However, both side dishes were very disappointing, rice wrap was cold and soggy, can tell it’s ready made and just taken out from the fridge straight. Fish cake was really fishy, it’s made of fish meat flakes instead of minced meat, maybe some would like the flavour. Took a small bite and didn’t touch it already. But overall I would say it’s a really good deal as phos were up to standards and staffs were really friendly. Will be back as it’s near my office.
