still one of the best mala xiang guo out there - always consistent, with a perfect balance of spice (辣) and numbing sensation (麻). (plus you won’t even realise it’s vegetarian) i also love how they have a wide variety of ingredients for you to pick from, from fresh vegetables to mock meats and a variety of mushrooms.

@greenonearthsg’s mlxg rendition is seriously one of our favourite. perfect to curb that mala craving when it hits. 🙌🏻 my usual mala ingredient includes: broccoli, instant noodles, lotus root, mushrooms & beancurd skin!

Soft and crispy fried man tou dipped with their condense milk 😋👍 restaurant is nice and comfy

Mala here goes for $3 per 100g. I’m actually not a very big fan of mala because I want to taste my food and not have it marred by the numbness and spiciness :p So I haven’t had a lot of mala to properly comment on it.

Found this pretty decent! We got the 小辣, it was manageably 麻 and 辣. The peanuts were crunchy, the ingredients - taupok, taukee, potatoes, shimeiji & lion’s mane mushrooms, veg, noodles were tasty. I particularly enjoyed the potatoes & lion’s mane mushrooms! There was an oil pool at the bottom of the bowl tho.

Will be back to try their 麻辣不要辣! They also have vegetarian zichar dishes that I wouldn’t mind trying.

Tried something new during our most recent visit to Green on Earth, the Ten Herbal Soup was one of the daily specials. It was strong of herbal notes though a touch sweeter than I would have liked. Would be nice to more a little more variety of ingredients other than mock meat chunks.

Saw a few posts about this on Burpple so decided to pay a visit.

Not many places in Singapore that sell mala hotpot solely for vegetarian unlike this place. Even without the real meat, I could say the taste still as good as those famous one.

This is seriously one solid bowl of 麻辣香锅, better than so many famous shops out there. Can’t believe it can be so fragrant and tasty without a single garlic or meat jus (yes, this is vegetarian mala!) The maggie mie is a bit thin & soft to my liking but the rest of the ingredients make up for it. Mock meats are surprisingly good as well. If only they open a stall closer to my house- this will be a staple!

Finally tried the popular milk tea here but we weren’t a big fan. It’s a little pricey for its portion (had lots of ice) and while the tea notes were pretty distinct, it was a bit diluted and the pearls were unfortunately quite bland.

heard that this place serves really good, if not the best mala in singapore and i can see why! the mala was really fragrant and tasty, yet not oily, and the sauce coated all the ingredients evenly. we got xiao la which was (personally) not spicy at all, but nonetheless tasty and full of flavour. there was a wide variety of ingredients and all were fresh.

one con is that at $3/100g, it can get a little pricey if you’re a big eater (we spent about $34 for two 😢)

8.5/10 🌟

So refreshing to go with the mlxg! Waited for the ice to melt a little and the sweetness became just nice.

Crunchy mushrooms coated with butter cream! They used curry leaves and chilli padi in here which added to the fragrance and heat. Would have liked the sauce less sweet.

Since we always get mlxg, we usually won’t get anything else that’s mala. This was our first time trying this 😂 Pretty good! It’s not super spicy as we expected, but the lingering heat was quite addictive. Rice was fried well too.

Hor fun was as good as we had last time! Wok hei’s there and the gravy was flavourful. Came with a good amount of various vegetables.

One of my family’s favourite dish to have in-house, but it didn’t seem to work as well as a takeaway this time, as the gravy got absorbed pretty quickly. Was a big portion though!

Thankful that Green on Earth is nearby, so we can easily pop by for takeaways! Most of their menu is still available, but they’ve changed their operating hours to 10am to 9pm for this Circuit Breaker period. They are available on GrabFood but they also do deliveries themselves. You can contact 67692230 or 97730869 to place your orders.

Looks a little messy because we dabao-ed! Other than the Kolo Mee with Sesame Oil ($4.90), the second combi we went for was ramen + mala sauce. Likewise, the noodles had a pretty good bite, but I’d go back for the kolo mee for it was springier! The level of spice here is default, and it came with a nice heat. It was nicely savoury and not too salty. Fishballs were a little bland, might be better if it was swapped with something else.

Love how Green on Earth is now so near me that it’s quickly becoming my to-go spot! Popped by for breakfast the first time a few days back. Their breakfast menu is small, with only 2 choices - this customisable noodles or Scissors Cut Rice ($4.90). Tried two different noodle combinations and enjoyed them, especially this fragrant kolo mee + sesame oil combination! Even though we dabao-ed these, the noodles had a good bite and didn’t turn clumpy, except that the fishballs were a little bland. Will be back very soon 😂

Dropped by Green on Earth’s new spot at The Rail Mall! They’ve moved from their previous location in Bukit Panjang to this big brand new space next to Springleaf Prata. This space is air-conditioned and nicely renovated, a huge change in atmosphere from the previous.

Went straight ahead for the mlxg. Really glad that prices have remained the same and it was as good as always. The variety of ingredients to pick from seems bigger now too, with different mock meats like abalone and sea cucumbers. They also launched a new membership plan (woohoo!!!!), where you’d get a $10 off with 100 points accumulated: $1 = 1 point!

Along our staple veg mlxg, we got a bowl of this new mushroom udon! It came in a chunky mushroom base, udon, cherry tomatoes, broccoli and seaweed. A pretty comforting bowl though I’d like the base to have a touch more seasoning. It’s perhaps better for sharing too as it gets a little flat in flavour after a while.

🤔: Ordered zhong la and the spice was exactly how zhong la should be like. The ingredients were well-coated and well-tossed, so there was no need for any further mixing. No complaints whatsoever other than the fact that it was too numbing, but it's ma la xiang guo so that is not even considered a legitimate complaint.

was a pretty good mala stir fry! xiao la was not spicy enough for us so we'd probably order zhong la next time. the mala was fragrant and flavourful and the environment was pretty chill. our only gripe was service was a little lukewarm and the location was not exactly the most convenient. however would totally come back for a good bowl of mala in the west!
