Rice was p fluffy and soft, dry enough to pair with the rendang sauce. Lion mane mushroom was meaty, went well with the flavourful and spicy rendang sauce. I liked the stir fried cabbage, as well as the tangy sweet achar it came with. Pappadum crackers were crisp! They served it with lotus root soup (with lotus root and peanuts), which is my fav soup so I was happy. Soup is not the most ๆต, itโs v thin but itโll do! I was p full and satisfied, though I donโt think this is v healthy but probably healthier than regular rendang.
So good!! I loved that it had tons of veggies - enoki, naibai, potato slices, lotus root slices, baicai, and goji. Yong tau foo pieces were crisp as they were deep(?) fried. The stuffing is vegetarian but resembled minced meat, was flavourful but not salty. I liked the taupok the best, but the stuffed mushroom and eggplant were both great as well, juicy and tasty. It's also served with some tanghoon, with a pumpkin broth (I wouldn't call it gravy bc it's not v thick) that had a nice natural sweetness.
Was v filling, I was full and v satisfied!
Having @greendotsg Braised Ipoh hor fun and angelica herbal noodle with cordyceps ๐๐ They give so many ingredient for the Ipoh hor fun ๐.

There are always long queue at green dot. Luckily went there earlier so not need to wait. Is a healthier choice with the food looks tempting. The drinks also nice. Staff and services are good too. They employ quite a number of senior citizens but they are all very friendly. Will come again!
The Hotpot Set for 1 with Handmade Noodles ($12.90 nett) was either a new addition to Greendot's menu, or perhaps something that I've glossed over/never noticed before. Wanting to try something different, I opted for this as opposed to my usual favourite.
Ordered at the cashier - chose the herbal soup base - & then sat down. Was pretty confused when my meal was served to me & it was a bowl of soup teeming full of ingredients, & another bowl with the handmade noodles inside... Where's the hotpot?
I was expecting something at least like the Minipot Noodles (ๅฐ็ข้ข) that you get at hawker centres.. With a little candle/fire below the pot. But this wasn't the case. Were my expectations misplaced or unfounded?
I enjoyed my meal while it lasted, especially with the plethora of ingredients in my soup. My favourites are the shiitake mushrooms, white enoki mushrooms, tau pok, & konnyaku crab ball.
However, my general preference is to eat noodles in soup, as opposed to dry noodles with soup on the side. The noodles were served separately for good reason; they were tossed in a soy sauce (too salty for my liking) so I couldn't dunk them in my soup for fear of making everything too salty.
With all that said & done, I'll probably revert to my usual favourite - the Angelica Herbal Noodle with Cordyceps ($7.90 nett). The noodles are served in the soup, & it's cheaper too.
Not a bad meal, just a confusing one & not to my preferences!

Slightly cheaper than the fresh mixed mushroom burger $9.90 we tried. We reckon that it might be because of soya patty. To our surprise, cheap can be good or better in this case. It is not as soggy as the mixed mushroom. The sesame bun holds the burger well and the soya patty is laminated with black pepper sauce. ๐
We prefer this to the mixed mushroom burger. For the vegetarian burger, Greendot offers quite a decent price tag with the menu choices. Do give theit burger try for a change! ๐
Gonna stick to vegetarian food for a while though itโs quite a journey for the selections! ๐
No more bento & noodle!! This time we give their burger set a try. ๐คฉ
.
The mixed mushroom is a Gung Pao Mushroom in Essence. It is so juicy filling that the burger paper canโt hold its juice. Call for ๐ด to rescue!!! If we can request Greendot, we would love to see the lion mane mushroom filling instead so itโs flavour packed and easier to hold! ๐ The burger comes with fries (same system like other burger joints for ketchup & sauce) ๐ค
Letโs rock on for rainy Saturday! We also try another burger here, gonna share later...do stay tuned!
Healthy comfort food on a cold rainy day. The Konnyaku fishballs were tasty and had an interesting texture (compared to regular fishballs). The herbal broth was too light for my liking.
Laksa Noodles (Vegan) ($7.5)
Angelica Herbal Noodle ($7.9)
The noodles for both were springy however, we preferred herbal noodles due to the tasty herbal broth which was not overwhelming and not forgetting the chewy Konnyaku Fishballs ! Yum!
Healthy options for lunch and low carbs intake. Noodles come with herbal soup which taste sweet and not oily. Suitable for both vegan and non-vegan.
Since I wasn't in the mood for any carbs, opted for the herbal soup for one (without noodles/rice). Came with general amounts of fresh veggies, mushrooms, tofu and beancurd skin. Perfect if you feel like having something light that day!

If you would like your meal healthy, without having to queue, walk far, and sit in an non-aircon place, would suggest green dot! This bowl of herbal noodle soup, in vegetarian form, whilst mildly tasteless, costs only $7.90! Try it when you are in a rush! ;)
Mega love (!!) for the Angelica Herbal Noodles (pictured bottom, $7.90) for its bouncy noodles in a superb, flavourful broth which tasted super nourishing. I didn't really like the konnyaku fishballs, though, but I must say that I'm very impressed with the soya mutton because it's damn legit. This bowl of healthy goodness was swept clean entirely ๐
The customised bento (pictured top, $7.90) comes with your choice of rice (brown rice), main (sweet & sour soya nuggets) and 2 veges from the counter. While they're good, I don't think it's worth to pay that much for the same thing you can get from a coffee shop / hawker vegetarian stall. So stick to their noodles or mushroom pots the next time you visit this casual vegetarian eatery!
Green Dot at Westgate #01-08
Left: Mushroom pot rice set - $9.90
Top right: Rendang - (cant rmb price)
Bottom right: Laksa - $7.90
Not in picture: Wintermelon Tea (cant rmb price)
If you feel like having bak kut teh soup without meat, try the meals at GreenDot with herbal soup. The mushroom pot comes with lots of veggie. Laksa is not too gelat either. Reasonable price for a decent vegan meal.
Vegetarian food that was as good as the ordinary. Mock meat w two vegetable of ur choice bento, w soup as well. You can even choose the type of the rice. Top is the herbal soup noodle. Quite a big portion, the only pity was that the soup wasn't hot enough.
Herbal soup noodle S$8.90
Bento S$7.90

Some people eat it for the spicy soup, a handful might like it for the cockles and others like me, eat it for the tau pok (fried beancurd puff)! The tau pok that has been so well cooked in the Laksa soup that it has absorbed all that tasty broth into itself, one that will reward you with a burst of the glorious spicy broth with every bite!
๐ถ
If you are one of those who cannot care less about the cockles and enjoys the tau pok and spicy broth in a Laksa, I think you will like @greendotsg 's Vegetarian Laksa (SGD 5.90).
๐ถ
Though Green Dot's spicy broth does not have dried shrimps and consequently lack a little umami flavor, it still manages to be tasty. Spice level is moderate and for those who wants an extra kick, chopped chillies are available on the side so don't worry.
๐ถ
Oh ya, and in case you are wondering if vermicelli, tau pok, bean sprouts and mushrooms are all you get from this bowl, hidden inside are some mock prawns and sotong balls. But I don't think anyone cares much about these. At least I don't.
๐ถ
What do you say? Would you try the this vegetarian version?
๐ถ
Tried the Chef Recommended dish and it really reminds me of the Chinese ็ธ้ ฑ้ข! Really liked the springy soya noodles with the mushroom 'minced meat' sauce. Came with straw mushrooms, shredded carrots and cucumbers and fried tofu. Entire dish was tasty and flavourful and the best part is that it's healthy too ๐๐ป Tried the Strawberry Black Tea too, and it's great that it isn't overly sweet and that it's naturally sweetened with chopped strawberries!
Customised Bento Set ($7.90) comes with the choice of brown rice, white rice or sesame rice. The 3 side dishes includes a main and 2 vegetables. Loved the home-cooked taste of the dishes. And really liked the much raved rendang mushroom! ๐๐ป
