Very high quality matcha powder, every aspect was good
Honestly this restaurant guarantees quality. The only problem is the value, for some of the dishes it's really not worth.
Complimentary
Idk if it's as good as it looks, since I expected the broth to have more umami. It's what u expect I guess once you taste the thick collagen broth
This has a clear, yet still ridiculous thick collagen broth that's much more packed w umami and more strongly seasoned. Alongside the garlic and chilli, it was rlly strong and could go on rice actually rather than being sipped. The wagyu motsu had a really clean flavour and was so soft. Since it's tasteless it goes well w a little bit of yuzu chili
It's lovely but incredibly expensive. Plus idk if it's done the authentic way because it's not supposed to be a clear broth.
Worth a try if you have money to throw. Otherwise I would recommend the authentic one at eat at seven
Strong, ultra thick collagen broth that's underseasoned but they provide salt. 5 ckn leg/ thigh pieces, 5 very tender ckn balls but didn't have any character. The ckn goes well w the ponzu sauce. Even the ckn breast was very tender
Worth a try if you're ok w the price, plus they provide salt so that part is fine. It needs more umami tho
Super tender, sauce was strong, egg yolk was great.
Apart from no crisp and the price, there's rlly nothing to complain about this dish
Honestly, the ingredients were ok only. but the Dashi is good, it's quite unique and has enough depth and umami (for singapore standards at least)
Mindblowingly good. It's wobbly and sticky at the same time, and somehow liquid and solid at the same time as well. The soy aroma is so strong and the texture so unique, it's a must try. There's a little bit of sweetness and served with wasabi
Mizutaki 4/5
Tako Wasabi 3/5
Fried Chicken Cartilage 3/5
Oden 4/5
Onigri 2/5
Matcha 4/5
The meat basically all βfatβ oil so itβs a bit greasy when you eat for a while. And the gin is a bit strong you gotta ask for lime to make it tastes better.
Fried chicken cooked with onions in nanban sauce. I had this to go, and had it for lunch the next day. A little soggy, but still good.
Before dining at Torikin, I have NEVER EVER had innards before. This dish is made up of beef intestines and beef heart, with vegetables of course. I ate a piece of beef heart by mistake (ewww), but the beef intestines were tasteless in a good way! It absorbed the sauce/dressing from the dish.
It's always a must to have dessert after meal! Love the Riceball very chewyyyyyy!!!!!! Red bean is abit too sweet for my liking.
Nice Japanese hotpot (Mizutaki) and chef complimentary onion chicken. Personally I don't eat onion but they really prepare good dish.
The pot includes chicken, minced chicken, assorted veg, mushroom & tofu and choice of porridge OR noodles. The waitress will do it step by step so not to worry what to do next. So, JUST EAT! Last for not least, Suntory beer~~~ π»π»
It's astonishing how a simple light-tasting vegetable stew like this can be so satisfying. Torikin's Japanese oden comes with a delectable array of vegetables, like a mochi-stuffed taopok (my favourite of the lot), a huge egg-white fishcake and a sweet chunk of radish. Those wonderful ingredients come with a superb dashi broth that's subtle yet luscious. Don't be too quick to think a dish of vegetables isn't filling nor tasty: this delicious oden would make a stunning dinner on its own. A must-try if you visit.
It's similar, but a lighter rendition made with more eggs and much lesser flour. This Tonpei Yaki was one of my favourite dishes over tonight's tasting at Torikin. It's packed to the brim with cabbage and sliced pork, drizzled with enough mayo and okonomi sauce to add flavour without overwhelming the dish. Most people visit Torikin for their signature chicken collagen hotpots; but if you're there, be sure to give this tasty dish a try.
This is served with pork and vegetable and loads of sauce and mayonnaise! π Very flavourful. Too bad I'm too full to finish my portion.
