Boon Lay Ho Huat Fried Hokkien Mee (Boon Lay Place Food Village)

One last slurp before the break! We made our final dash to Boon Lay Place Food Village this weekend before the hawker centre takes a 3-month rest for repairs and a fresh new look.

This stall always draws a queue and their wet-style Hokkien mee may be a little light on the wok hei [a.k.a. smoky aroma], but it more than makes up for it in nostalgic taste.

Ordered $5 portions for take away. Portions are big. You get 5 X halves of prawns. Bit of Sotong and pork belly. Not much of wok heat. Chilli is quite mild. Please note if you want lard, you must inform them when you order.

Overall not bad but still far from the top ones in Singapore.

Gotten a small plate of their fried hokkien mee, the taste was good especially with the chilli.

It’s pretty wet with the gravy! Squeezes the lime into gravy to make it richer in taste! The plate that you see ~ damage $4 for small plate and if you wanna a bigger serving then go for the $5 for big plate or even $6 for bigger plate! 😂😂😂 They closed around 10.30pm.
