Hock Gooi Hainanese Curry Rice (Market Street Interim Hawker Centre)

Previously had good review for this stall but it seems the quality of the food fluctuates. Nonetheless, still one of the cheapest meal in this hawker! ⁣⁣⁣

Quite possibly the cheapest meal I’ve had at this hawker, with a good amount of gravy, zhap chye and crispy pork chop towering my plate. Cheap thrills ☺️ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Stall at the far right side of interim market(there are 2 curry rice stores) this one is in the same row as Tiong Bahru wonton mee. Just rmb to ask for more sauce if you like your rice covered in gravy

Had this takeaway curry rice from the market, this shop is always looong queue but it is quick. Picked braised pork and fried pork cutlet to share and both are equally good. The curry sauce is not too strong and mix well with the rice. Cannot complain as it is so reasonable and satisfying!

This stall has a perpetually snaking queue during lunch hours but nothing's gonna stand in my way for a wallet-friendly $2.50 rice set. That comes with savoury chapchye, sunny side up (ps. there is no lor ngerng) and porkchop/ braised pork belly/ charsiew! Added brinjal which came up to $3.20.

Picked the braised pork belly cos' I saw it glistening but alas it wasn't tender nor melt-in-the-mouth which I prefer. Braised sauce was okay, overall pretty decent. Curry was quite light, and not spicy at all. Will be back for the pork chop which was so crisped!!!
