this was yummy!!! chicken was juicy and batter stayed crispy. spicy soya sauce was also nice but can be quite spicy. portion is also big
essentially a pork bone soup. v generous with the pork and big portion! but quite salty i was damn thirsty afterwards
If you’re craving authentic Korean flavors, Hoodadak is the place to be. Known for their rich and hearty Gukbap, this restaurant has nailed the taste of traditional Korean comfort food. We ordered the Daeeji Gukbap, and it arrived boiling hot, exactly as it should be. What impressed us were the small but significant details, like the baby shrimps they provided to mix in—a customary addition in Korea that lets you tailor the flavor to your preference.
We also tried the Dakgalbi, which was a real treat. The sauce had a delightful sweetness that paired perfectly with the fluffy white rice, balancing out the dish with every bite. As for the Kimbap, it had that authentic taste we love, bringing us right back to the streets of Korea.
The portions here are impressive—ideal for anyone with a big appetite or looking to share. For the quality and quantity of food, Hoodadak is amazing value for money. Whether you’re a Korean food enthusiast or trying Gukbap for the first time, Hoodadak is sure to leave you satisfied!
Sometimes, even on really sunny days, I will crave for a good stew to fill up not only my stomach, but my heart as well. The Soondubu or Seafood Tofu Stew ($16) from Hoodadak does just that with their flavourful soup and plentiful ingredients. I wouldn't say they are the best, but they are decent enough to come back for more. Seafood is quite fresh, and I do love the egg drop within the stew that made it even more satisfying.
Loved their side dishes as well, as they have about 4 on rotation. This is my go-to Korean food when I'm here in one north!
Went to Hoodadak a few days ago and ordered their seafood jjampong ($17)!😇 Overall ratings 6/10! The soup was good but there's quite a lot of vegetables, overpowering the dish a little😅 They had free sides as well and portions are huge)! Would probably visit again and try other menu items instead😅
Although we ordered way too much, the quality and portions made us so satisfied!
The Dakgalbi sharing portion came in a huge plate, probably enough to feed at least 3. There were loads of ingredients within, from tender chicken pieces, to chewy rice cakes to fresh assorted vegetables. Loved how the sauce has a good balance of sweet and savoury, definitely perfect to go with some rice.
We ordered bossam as well, and it was surprisingly good! The pieces of pork were very fatty and tender. Paired with ssam and some savoury radish slices, its really the perfect balance of fresh and fatty taste profiles.
The jajjangmyeon or black bean noodles came in an enormous plate as well, enough to feed at least 3. Although the noodles didn't have the chewy noodles I was looking for, the sauce had good flavour and was filled with seafood ingredients including squid and prawns.
Although we over ordered and had 2 bottles of makgeoli, the price came up to $42 per pax which isn't bad at all. Definitely worth it and a place to check out if you are nearby and craving for Korean food!
Had the Samgepsal (pork + rice + soup + lettuce) set ($18++) for lunch and it was amazing 🤩 it’s super crowded during lunch but that kinda adds to the homely, hearty vibes of the restaurant and together with the flavours of the rice, soup and pork, it felt like I was having a warm, homecooked meal in the heart of an office area. Will be back to try other items on their menu 😍
Soup was pretty flavourful and quite thicj, but doesn't look like doenjang jiggae and as expected, the fermented bean tasted wasnt too prominent even tho it's there.
Overall their soups do better here, tteokbokki was alright but the beef is damn average
The cheese was good and the sauce was balanced as well, but the tteokbokki is quite abit softer than normal. I'm ok w that but those who are looking for something authentic probably won't appreciate it as much
Very normal. Maybe abit more flavourful than your hawker centre version due to the chives and bigger in portion, but not particularly tender nor juicy. Barely passable
Wasn't particularly noteworthy but they have a rare one: garlic shoots. Unfortunately it's abit tough here, still passable
V hearty and homely soybean paste stew. Reminds me of the taste in Korea. Also ate the bulgogi and it was also good. Both dishes were affordable (
2nd visit. Tried to order different dishes this time but still ordered the hangover soup which was as delicious as the first time. Crispy seafood pajeon when freshly served. Also ordered jajangmyeon. Noodle texture was good but was not salty enough.
Will be back again.
Ordered the hangover soup for 16 bucks and it was huge! It was so hearty and flavourful. Really reminds me of Korea. The bulgogi was also good. Will definitely come back again
Generous in the ingredients, rich and flavourful soup till the last drop. This soup never fail to bring comfort to my soul. I personally think this is the best Kimchi Jijigae in SG.
Pork Belly Set ($18)
The pork belly is juicy and chewy! It's so savory it's actually good enough without the ssamjang! It's a bit too chewy for me though, I love it to be softer but my friend love it so much.
The set comes with rice and some korean side dishes like kimchi, potato
Cheese Ttokbokki ($18)
This is the best ttokbokki i ever eat! The ttokbokki is sooo soft and the sauce is seeping in so we can taste ttokbokki with the ttokbokki sauce on every bite! It's not the usual ttokbokki with sauce on the outside and tasteless in the inside. And the cheese is sooo good! It's torched over and it's the best because it enhance the taste much much more!
The side dishes that were refillable.
Kimchi cabbage was always the most favourite one.
Banchan or bansang is a collective name for small side dishes served along with cooked rice in Korean cuisine.
The fresh lettuce was to wrap the slice Bossam (sliced boiled pork).
Mashisoyo!
Above average tasty pan fried Korean style seafood pancake.
Filled with ingredients.
