Getting the coconut pandan waffles was a brilliant choice by the bf, but pairing it with the black sesame gelato proved to be a perfect combination. True to its taste, the black sesame gelato was nutty with a hint of bitterness. The coconut pandan waffles was indeed aromatic and creamy, but what’s more pleasant was the hidden mochi-like texture. For someone who doesn’t enjoy mochi because of the sticky chewiness, I found myself enjoying and will probably be back for more. Drizzled around the waffle was their gula melaka sauce, so rich in flavour of molasses.

You would also find a Vietname influence on their desserts such as Dalat and some gelato flavours (Ca Phe) as the co-owner is a Vietnamese.

Sunset way has now turned into the land of gelato and ice cream, just like how we know Toa Payoh to be the land of bubble tea. A visit to @hundredacre.sg, inspired by Winnie the Pooh and its fictional Hundred Acre Wood, was filled with happiness especially with its warm colour tone interior.

I can’t deny the fact that I was spoilt for choice with their interesting flavours selection such as ocean blue and peach basil. Finally decided on the honey chrysanthemum with cacao nibs as I was craving for a floral flavour on that day. Instead of a mere white floral taste, I was first greeted by the sweet honey note, followed by a delicate herbal floral sweetness, and slight bitterness as I bite into the cacao nibs. Extremely delighted by this tasteful rhythm, boosted further by the choice of a rosemary cone. The herbaceous, lemon piney notes that came through were way intense than what you get from the thyme-infused cone at BOP.

I came intrigued by the Pooh theme. It is a small ice cream parlour decked in yellow main decor with wooden accent and some Pooh toys and quotes on the wall for photo-ops. They offer some standard, some unique flavors. I had a double scoop of Honey Chrysanthemum with Cacao Nibs and Roasted Pistachio [$9.5 due to premium and gourmet flavors, $8 for double scoop with standard flavors]. The former was quite heavily chrysanthemum [which I like] with hints of honey that added a natural sweetness, and cacao added a nice crunch to it. Roasted pistachio was mostly nutty, which I welcomed but not everyone may like it. They offer waffles and Vietnamese coffee too. The staff were friendly and willing to give recommendations. A good quieter place to go in the area!

🍫 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐛𝐞𝐭 (𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐲 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞)- I’m not a sorbet fan, so I was a little skeptical at first! However I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it doesn’t taste like sorbet at all & its really creamy & good👍🏻 The dark choc flavour was intense and not too sweet, u really can’t tell that its dairy free if u dun mention it! ⁣⁣
🌼 Based on their recommendation, we also got the 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐲𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐮𝐦 & 𝐂𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐨 𝐍𝐢𝐛𝐬! Super intense Chrysanthemum taste, folks who love this drink will love this flavour. While the flavour was intense, it wasn’t too sweet & the addition of cacao bits kind of enhanced the texture and make each bite really pleasant. ⁣⁣
🧇 Their freshly baked waffle was on the thinner & chewier side, would prefer it to be more crispy & fluffy! Need to try their cone next time🍦⁣⁣

The ambience and decor at HAC is really cosy and the service is impeccable.
I personally love the cones at HAC and would recommend those over the waffles. Personal picks: coconut ice cream, Vietnamese coffee ice cream, coconut affogato.

Forget the waffles, the rosemary cones at HAC are where the goodness is at. The cones aren’t as fragrant as certain local ice cream parlours but they hold up really well (none of that nonsense where you’ve queued soooo long for your delicious herby cone and ice cream only to have it crumble in your hands - literally). I love that these cones are thick and soooo crunchy.

On to the ice cream - Vietnamese coffee flavoured ice cream isn’t that common yet, and it’s definitely one of my top picks from the flavours I’ve tried here. It is really aromatic, and hits all the right notes of bitterness, sweetness, milkiness, plus the texture is soooo creamy and good. Plus points that the ice creams here don’t melt in the blink of an eye. My favourite flavour here still remains as coconut (I’ll always go for the coconut affogato), so this comes as my top pick for scoops, before pistachio (shockingly) or the blue pea nori white chocolate. Can’t wait to try the bacio and other flavours!
