Happy that these guys opened up in Serangoon Gardens. Reasonable prices and great tasting food. The service was very helpful. They also have a hotpot buffet at only $18.80 (+$8 for double soup base) and that was good too.

Tried @huolalaspicypot at Serangoon Garden. They do have Burpple but we didn't used it. Pretty standard Mala style where you choose what ingredients you want and they will fry it for you.

I love that there is an options that they fry egg for you like in Char Kway Teow πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹.

Overall, the spicy level is quite standard and the numbness is there. Overall, it was an enjoyable dish and I will be back!

Ingredients were fresh and the place was nice to dine in + there was a good playlist of mando pop playing the whole time πŸ˜› They had a whole fridge of meat, seafood and assorted meat/seafood balls on top of the usual vegetables selection. The bowl was very fragrant and garlicky, though I’d like it to be slightly more thoroughly fried. Heat was great and it was just right in saltiness. It’s not as numbing, but you probably can request for more when ordering. Other than mlxg, they also have a few soup options - tomato, chicken, etc. Was a bit pricey, but will be back to try the ma la soup!

Psst, we came by on V Day Eve so the Beyond deals were locked, but they actually have deals for both their lunch steamboat buffet and ma la xiang guo. That’d be very worth!

Round up your favourite spiceheads at this joint in Serangoon Gardens. Burppler serene goh advises to take it easy with the spice levels that range from Mild, Medium and Extra. There is a wide selection of vegetables and mushrooms ($1.80/100g), meats ($2.50/100g) and seafood ($3/100g) to choose from. Add on instant noodles (from $1) for an extra satisfying meal!

Price was very reasonable and the ingredient selection was good. We had a choice of mala siang guo bowl or a soup-based bowl. Both were very nice. Service was very helpful and friendly.
