BB set had a main + prawn + green tea + salad + miso soup
Waited pretty long for the food to arrive but it was worth the wait! Sashimi was fresh and mentai prawn was really delicious! Very filling as well (both of us girls couldnāt finish the rice). Overall a good deal which Iāll probably use again!
Value for money at 2 sets for 30.90$
Food is not bad and service was prompt
New outlet on the 4th floor of one raffles place, next to three cups coffee.
Got the made to order signature kaisen don, which comes with rice or salad or you also have the option to get both! For my bowl, I omitted the pickled ginger and asked for EXTRA wasabi! Option to get the kaisen in 2 more different sizes: Small - $12.90
Large - $19.90
In this bowl, you will get chunks of salmon, maguro, swordfish, mini hotate, squid, ikura. I like the marinade they use with the fish, which is not too heavy or salty, just enough to bring out the sweetness & freshness of the fish. Some pieces of fish were rather flimsy though. If i were to compare this with teppeiās kaisen don and i must say that Iām not as satisfied with this. Only thing that i like better here is the sushi rice. Oh, and the free flow tea leaf egg of course!
Kei kaisendon unique speciality is to maximize oneās enjoyment with their bowls in 4 different ways.
Method 1: enjoy the fresh seafood/fish with shoyu & wasabi
Method 2: mix mayo & chili powder and blend into the bowl
Method 3: after finishing half the don, pour sakurai chicken soup ($1.90) into the bowl and enjoy as porridge
Method 4: take their special nori seaweed ($1.50 for 2pcs) with spoonful of rice & fish, wrap into rolls
