Isetan 1utama is always never ceased to amaze me as it always surprise me when it comes to their Eat Paradise! The Eat Paradise has amazing choices of eateries to choose from and it’s also a non-halal place! After much pondering around that fantastic and tantalizing floor of foodie haven, we spotted the sushi bar name Ichiro and it has been on every foodies radar for quite a long time.. The restaurant is really tiny yet inviting and comforting and you also can order the food via iPad.. They have 2 seating options which are at sushi bar area or just ordinary table.. There is a super long waiting list to get in so be patient as the wait is totally worth it for that amazing sushi! We opted for a sushi counter seating as it was lovely to witness the chef at work and creating delicious sushi and sashimi.. Their portion is generous for the price you’re paying especially the Unagi & Salmon don (RM37) which is really beautifully plated! The unagi is has this amazing balance between sweet and savory and it was really meaty alongside the aburi style salmon that is cooked nicely on the outside and perfectly tender and raw on the inside! The fats just melts in your mouth in every bite that is an amazing marriage in heaven with their fluffy sushi rice.. A must try for every Japanese food!

Poke bowl is the latest healthy food trend to hit KL which is an awe inspiring bowl of healthy ingredients like brown rice or just plain with rice with condiments and the awe important protein which is the fish! Hearing great things about this magical Poke Bowl that made it a must try thing for a foodie or even an average joe getting on the bandwagon of healthy lifestyle.. This Poke Bowl place called the Paperfish which is actually owned by Dennis Yen.. The shop is actually located just behind the row of Kukus Stim Nasi Lemak and it's quite noticeable with its green paperfish signage.. This place is actually very open and simple with a wall of paperfish crowding around.. The moment you enter the eatery, you will see it has a clean vibe pulsing through and you just need to wake your way through the sea of tables to get to their Poke counter.. In that counter you will be greeted by the paperfish people and the illuminated menu.. The option here are quite straightforward as there is only Salmon & Tuna as the protein but they have 3 different sort of flavourings going on.. Besides that, there is also the superfood option too.. For this visit, I opt for the Umami Shoyu Salmon Poke Bowl(Rm16.90) which consist of a base to choose from either white or brown rice/greens or quinoa (additional rm1.90) with the toppings of greens, seaweed, cherry tomatoes, fish roe, edamame, onions, spring onions and sesame seeds.. I opted for their brown rice which is well cooked and it's quite bland on its own but together with the Shoyu Salmon; it's really quite packed with clean flavours of salty with some crunchy and sweet texture from white onions, the edamame and also seaweed.. It is truly a heaven for any foodie that just love honest and clean flavours or just like to eat clean to balance out all the naughty scrumptious food that we have on other days.. Don't expect any service in this eatery as it's all self service.. Great food but mediocre service..

A name which is synonymous to brunch & great pastry in the district of TTDI which is a popular spot among the locals living around here.. Heard great things about this place and especially for their waffle! So we decided to go and have a try for their waffles to see what's their magic touch in making them one of the places to go for waffles! This cafe is actually quite easy to spot as it's the same row as the famous dessert place; Foo Foo and Corks Out! The ambience itself is very relaxing and it's also a great place to work as there's free wifi and comfy pillows to hug with.. The menu here is quite comprehensive and detailed.. After much studying, we ordered their American waffle (RM18) to try which is actually a two halves of the waffle being layered upon each other with caramelized bananas, chantilly cream, toasted almond chips, chocolate sauce and 2 generous scoops of vanilla ice cream.. At first glance it may look sumptuous but it's great to share or if you're hungry, You can finish it alone.. So the waffle in terms of texture is really delicious as it's crunchy on the correct parts and soft and fluffy on the inside! As it's the blank canvas for tho other accompaniments; it just works so incredibly well with the salty burnt caramelized bananas and the crunchy almonds alongside the vanilla creamy goodness.. All the elements on the plate just brings out the harmony on your palate in every mouthful!

The little haven for all things great in the world which is coffee and brunch is done fantastically by the people that brought us the Common Man coffee roasters! This haven is hailed from the land of their merlions and they have seem to have perfected the art of brewing excellent lattes, the mastery of roasting beans to make lovely coffee for us and not to mention adding another feather to their cap would be making scrumptious brunch not matter what the time of the day it is! Great things was buzzing the moment they open their welcoming doors to the public and I have been so eager to try their coffee and their churros.. With pure determination and also additional stomachs came along to tick this brunch place off our list of brunch places to go and so we venture into the TTDI area to try them food and coffee.. Their current menu now comprises from breakfast classics and their new creations to catering lunch & dinner which are rather interesting yet substantial from their description alone.. So we had their Sautéed Kale & egg white scramble (RM29)which is follows the current craze of anything Kale and healthy.. Initially we were rather skeptical about having Kale as it isn't the type of greens we were brought up with but since it's something new and unique and not to forget an excellent choice for those who are on a vegan diet or day; this would be just great! The moment it came to our table, we were in awe with their composed yet beautifully plating it has for a plate of greens consisting mainly Kale, broccoli, sweet peas & asparagus which are actually music to my ears considering I love eating vegetables! The texture of the vegetables are crunchy yet sweet on its own and the Kale was sauteed with just the right amount of balance in terms of oil and seasoning which made it even more enjoyable to eat.. Lets not forget the unique egg white scramble that is topped with shaved Parmesan & lemon zest crumbs! The scramble whites doesn't resemble anything like an egg white and in fact they rather look like fluffy clouds which also in texture was like a cloud itself when we ate it and the lemon zest crumb just brought out the zesty yet salty elements which somehow goes amazingly well with the Kale! It's really a delicious yet mind blowing awesome plate of greens with a twist! This plate would convert any non green or non vegetarian loving people to try it and finish the whole plate itself! It's a must try in common man!

A beautiful, laid back yet oldies place with a strong vibe of the Grandparents age that has synonymously linked to the rattan chair furniture and those huge chinese paper calendar that acts as their Google of those ages.. This place is rather simplistic in their deco yet it manages to exudes a calming and quiet vibe despite a rather busy Friday.. The service staff here are excellent with a heart warming smile upon greeting you at their entrance and they really do work fast! Not to forget they are like a walking encyclopedia of desserts!! Their menu is straightforward and simple that are well crafted and thought of with sections of plated desserts, ice cream and cakes! You can also bring wines to drink and enjoy for a corkage of RM20.. Back to the dessert, one of their signature is this spicy yet full bodied red wine poached pear with chrysanthemum ice cream, aloe Vera jelly sprinkled on its side.. The presentation of it just looks fantastic! The first mouthful of the poached pear was pure heaven! The pear was still tender but soft enough to be chewed so effortlessly and you still can get the spicy taste of the Shiraz and some fruits and tannin from the Cabernet Sauvignon.. To me, it's just a match made in heaven with that crispy texture of the nuts and raisins goes well with the pear and the home made chrysanthemum ice cream! Hoping to return here for more dessert!

A name that is synonymous with desserts that are laid back, creative yet traditional. Have been dying to try this dessert parlor that is situated the same row as the frisky goat of ttdi.. It only requires you to leap happily through a flight of stairs that will lead you to a beautiful door with the name glistening to you and with it you will be happily greeted with a bar counter filled with elves of the foo foo that just ever so welcoming to their humble home.. The decor of this place is really homey with those comfortable sofas and chairs.. Not to forget the main attraction is that in every corner it is just that photogenic that you would have a hard time finding the ideal spot to sit! After finding an ideal spot, you're presented a compact and well crafted menu of dessert offerings that just surprised you in every word.. The one that caught our eyes would be their Balsamic Vinegar ice cream which seems to be a rare thing and only heard of on food programs.. But you could get it here! So for just Rm9 you are being presented with a simplistic presentation of an ice cream made with pure balsamic vinegar and the best part is, it's home made and natural; no preservatives so which ideally means you gotta eat fast before it turns to balsamic vinegar sauce.. Truly enjoyable and excellent service! Another perk is you can bring your wines over with a fee of RM20! More reasons for me to enjoy desserts and wines

The land of American inspired pastry joint which made its mark in the TTDI area with its ever so colourful and vibrant rainbow bagel but sadly I think that was their only Marilyn Monroe moment as today I ventured in and was feeling curious to try out their pastries.. So I've selected their Paris Brest but to my dismay it was the biggest disappointment I've ever made.. It was dry, cold and I wasn't that fluffy & the pastry cream filled with mango wasn't really appetizing.. It was more sourish rather than delightful and fluffy like how a Paris Brest should be.. Don't try their Madeleine's, it's too compact and not really zesty.. It doesn't resembles any characteristics of a Madeleine's should be.. The service is just alright..

This is the dried, non sticky and fried pork ribs.. Well the pork is a huge portion and great for sharing but the condiments that was accompanying this fried meat wasn't really that helpful because the Cornell mash potato was too heavy and the minuscule of salsa was not tangy enough to counter with the oiliness of this dish.. Wouldn't mind having it with some gravy or maybe something sour to cut through that fat and fried elements.. Not to say a great pork ribs that I had

Well known braised beef dish of France and it's usually a crowd pleaser as it promises you an everlasting joy in every bite with its beef that is just so tender, falling off the bone (if it happen to have ) or in this case tender till it cuts so effortlessly like a good moist chocolate cake.. In this bistro, this beef dish had a large portion of the beef which is too overwhelming for one if you don't have a large appetite but for me it was just nice.. Sadly the vegetables accompanying it wasn't so joyful looking as it doesn't bring much flavour or texture to this dish making it rather sidelined.. The beef is tenderly cooked but it gets cooled very fast and the braising liquid isn't enough to make it moist own its own on the plate..

A creamy, decadent and fatty yet well balanced appetizer.. it's a creamy foie gras appetizer with hints of sourness from the blueberries and bitterness of the arugula that balances it well with the addition of the berry sauce.. Portion is just perfect for one at RM39 but leave you a happier person

It's an artisan cafe with a decor that is reminiscent of the famous graffiti laneways that beautify the streets of Melbourne.. The coffee menu is mainly inspired by the coffee drinking and experts from the hip and youthful city and I've got their latte which is in this case balanced perfectly well without the help of sugar dose.. The beans are nicely roasted with a balanced acidity, nutty and toasty aroma that makes it ever so pleasant to drink throughout the day.. Their food menu isn't that colorful or creative as their coffee or their decor as it's mainly stick with the classic breakfast selection. A great place for hanging out or discussion
