Amidst the café laden Somerset area, comes a quiet contender hailing from Taiwan 🇹🇼 - @m5coffee.sg 𝗠𝟱 𝗖𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲 介丘咖啡 which takes inspiration from the mountain ranges, hence their very cute logo which is a little reminiscent of Mount Fuji. 🗻💙💙

Located in the basement of Orchard Gateway, this quaint little café is nestled near one of the exits leading to Somerset MRT station, and I really liked the clean, comfy vibes of this hidden space.

🗻𝗠𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗿 ($7.00) - A Singapore exclusive 🇸🇬, this drink is a playful take on everything fun with the addition of 𝘽𝙡𝙪𝙚 𝘾𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙖𝙤 𝙎𝙮𝙧𝙪𝙥 💙 - Think warm, sandy beaches ☀️and clear blue water 🌊, with a subtle 𝙊𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙕𝙚𝙨𝙩 🍊 playfully laced with 𝙎𝙚𝙖 𝙎𝙖𝙡𝙩, a shot of 𝙀𝙨𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙤 ☕ and 𝙈𝙞𝙡𝙠. I really enjoyed this paired with the 𝙏𝙖𝙧𝙤 𝘾𝙤𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙪𝙩 𝘾𝙖𝙠𝙚! 😍

🍠🥥💜𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘂𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗸𝗲💜 ($9.50) - TBH I was pretty hesitant about ordering this since I've had my fair share of dry cakes, but I was incredibly surprised at how delightful the first bite was! 😲♥️ Not overly sweet, it was a beautiful medley of 𝙏𝙖𝙧𝙤 🍠and 𝘾𝙤𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙪𝙩🥥 with layers of fluffy crumbed cake and whipped cream. It was so delicious I had no issue finishing the whole slice by myself! 😝💜💜💜

I'm definitely returning to try their other drinks and desserts, hopefully the cute 𝘾𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙨 𝘾𝙖𝙠𝙚 🌵 will be available then!

Feeling extremely lucky to snag a seat outdoors (albeit super warm with no Aircon), I settled for these:

💚𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝𝙖 𝘾𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢𝙪 🍵🥛 ($8.90) - Unlike the gorgeous cream peaks that adorn most IG photos, the cream on mine arrived flat, probably having sat around for some time before it was served. 🥲 Thankfully, it was still flavour packed, and although it is priced a little on the steep side, the grassy and slightly sweet 𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉𝒂 🌿 was a great tongue pleaser. Couldn't say much for the cream since I couldn't taste much texture, but I did enjoy the dusting of 𝑪𝒐𝒄𝒐𝒂 𝑷𝒐𝒘𝒅𝒆𝒓 🍫which subtly elevated and enhanced the drink as a whole.

@thebackyardbakers is no secret to local brownie insiders, but I was drawn to their new drinks offering at their spanking new Jewel outlet, particularly one involving some alcohol and coffee... 😝😝🖤🖤

A take on 𝙄𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙝 𝘾𝙤𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙚🍀 𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘴 the cream, think classic 𝙄𝙘𝙚𝙙 𝘾𝙤𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙚 laced with a shot of Baileys and a dollop of 𝙎𝙚𝙖 𝙎𝙖𝙡𝙩 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙡 🍮🧂 just for kicks. 🤤☕ Be warned though, the coffee does get pretty watered down with the ice and fancy flavours, so if you're looking for an afternoon caffeine perk-me-up, this is not the drink for you... 🫣

But if you're looking for a fun flavour splash to go with your brownies, definitely give their new drinks a try at their gorgeous new outlet in the East!😁☕☕

🍵𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉𝒂 𝑻𝒂𝒓𝒕 ($7.50) - An absolutely beautiful tart, featuring a dense and sweet 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝𝙖 𝙂𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚, not a huge fan of this since I prefer a stronger 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝𝙖 kick. May go well paired with a strong black brew? 🤔

I'm not usually a fan of 𝘽𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙎𝙚𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙚 (𝙆𝙪𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙤𝙢𝙖), but I'm so glad that I gave this strikingly beautiful Black Beauty a chance.

Sandwiched between 2 slices of spongy 𝘿𝙖𝙘𝙦𝙪𝙤𝙞𝙨𝙚 that was slightly crispy on the outside, was a smooth monochromatic pairing of aromatic 𝘽𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙎𝙚𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙚 (𝙆𝙪𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙤𝙢𝙖) 🖤 piped among 𝙎𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙈𝙞𝙡𝙠 𝙂𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚 🧂🥛with hidden 𝙈𝙤𝙘𝙝𝙞 🍡 nestled within.

Neither too sweet nor overpowering, this little morsel paired remarkably well with their signature 𝘼𝙗𝙨𝙚𝙞𝙡 ☕🖤 ($9.00), which was executed with a deliciously floral yet refreshingly tart 𝙔𝙞𝙧𝙜𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙛𝙛𝙚 🇿🇦 selection on the day of visit. Highly recommend this pairing for folks who want a little of everything, without overloading the senses...
