Look past the many other Thai restaurants in the building to hunt down this authentic spot. The nosh is fiery and pocket-friendly, while the space sees a bustling ambience not unlike that of Bangkok's street stalls. For rainy night comforts, the Clear Tom Yum Seafood ($15) is sweat-inducing, incredibly fragrant and chock-full of seafood and mushrooms. Also good is the coconut milk version — the Tom Yum Talay Yai (from $12). Adventurous eaters should get the Grilled Pork Tongue ($12) for delicious slivers with a nice bite. To cap dinner off with much-needed carbs, both the Stir-Fried Vermicelli (from $6) and Mee Mama Salad ($12) will hit the spot.

What this pizza joint lacks in its simple decor, their mouth-watering pizzas more than makes up for. Their spacious alfresco area is perfect for chill hangs with the group. The highly-raved-about Burrata ($26) is a must-try. It's a sight to behold — a generous dollop of soft, stringy cheese atop pizza dough slathered in zesty tomato sauce and mozzarella, with a light-as-air crust. Drizzle some olive oil over for maximum pleasure. For something green, try the tasty Zazz Salad ($12) or load up on a Mixed Mushroom Pizza ($26) with the same deliciously fluffy dough.

Ordering for big groups can sometimes prove to be a challenge. Look to this Nyonya powerhouse's popular sets, which range from $10 to $15. All sets include two sides dishes— choose between vegetables, omelette or tauhu. On a main that comes with the set, go with the Nonya Pork Ribs ($8) that's fatty and tangy and perfect for pairing with rice. For sharing, try their Sambal Sotong ($8.80), Sambal Kangkong ($7) and Nyonya Ngoh Hiang ($7). Save space for dessert! The set comes with the regular Chendol ($3) but you can add $1.50 for the luxe Durian Chendol, sporting fresh, sweet durian bits and puree.

Get your appetite going with the good-for-sharing Tom Nuong ($30.90), featuring sweet, smoky grilled king prawns that goes well with the spicy, tangy homemade sauce. Another popular dish is the Cha Gio ($18.20), crispy fried spring rolls filled with juicy, melt-in-the-mouth minced pork. Don’t forget to dip it in the sweet fish sauce for a flavour boost! For something comforting, the Bun Thit Nuong ($17.90) is a combination of cold rice-vermicelli noodles with barbecued pork and fragrant hints of basil, mint and fish sauce — double up on this dish with your 1-for-1 #BurppleBeyond deal!

This dim sum spot near Jalan Besar MRT makes an ideal option for lunchtime gatherings. The interior is stripped down with white walls and green plastic chairs, but you’re really here for their stellar Cantonese treats. We like the made-to-order Steamed Crispy Rice Roll and Shrimp ($4.70) that sees crispy prawn fritters wrapped in silky chee cheong fun. Another must-try is their Baked Salted Egg Custard Bun ($5 for three pieces) with creamy filling that oozes with each bite. P.s. Get #BurppleBeyond to enjoy 1-for-1 deals — more dim sum for everyone!

For conversations over local eats without the hustle and bustle of a hawker centre, this comfortable prawn noodles shop is your answer! Come for the Wok-Fried Big Prawn White Bee Hoon ($16.80), a solid dish of beehoon bathed in dense prawn stock and redolent of smoky wok hei. Have this with the homemade chilli sauce, which takes flavours to the next level with its tangy spiciness. On sides, we like the Shrimp Prawn Roll ($5.80) that showcases juicy yet crunchy minced meat and water chestnut filling beneath golden deep-fried pastry.

To impress your group of friends on a budget, this buzzy joint along Upper Thomson is a surefire win! Picture high stools along a marble bar, neon signs and classy gold accents — setting the right mood for celebrations. There are even private rooms available for more intimate gatherings, though you'll have to call ahead to snag one. The Omote Chirashi Don ($12.80) is one for the books — a satisfying meal of slightly sweet rice served with a hearty mound of well-marinated sashimi. A good option for meat-lovers, the Spicy Yakiniku Don ($15.80) comes with sweet-savoury, tender beef slices and runny egg on warm rice.

Melding Mexican and Korean flavours, this taco joint in South Beach is no stranger to dinner parties (the space fits up to over 100 people)! When here, order the rave-worthy Kimchi Carnitas Fries ($19) with braised pork carnitas, melted cheese and spicy kimchi over shoestring fries. For mains, go for their Baja Fish Tacos ($17) with flaky fresh fish that melts in the mouth. With #BurppleBeyond's 1-for-1 deal, you also get to enjoy a drink with your meal — go for the sweet, icy Classic Makgeolita for a tequila-meets-makgeolli buzz.

Run by a group of friends, this fun-loving bar has perfected the formula for a good night out. Skewers and beers in an intimate space that's still roomy enough to fit groups. Star dishes include the spicy Eggplant with TSB Signature Chilli ($5) and the protein-loaded Four Ton Chawanmushi ($4.50), which is a delectable triple eggs combo — century, salted and quail. Also worth ordering is their Whole Seabass ($22), fresh catch grilled then slathered in chilli paste & lemongrass for a zesty finish!
