Exactly the title - this tasted like the wet style hokkien mee even tho it is supposedly aglio olio. My friend loved it cos she’s crazy about hokkien mee but I have my reservations.

Shrimps were fresh and the head was cooked to crispy so it was actually edible. The noodles were cooked in prawn broth so tasted quite strong. I didn’t expect that as regular aglio olio is more garlic, chilli and parsley based.

It’s a fusion twist. You will like it if you’re a fan of hokkien mee but too bad, I’m not.

Verdict: 3/5

Tiger prawns infused with cereal and matcha. Sounds quirky but the cereal was so addictive. It had chillipadi and curry leaves which made the dish super aromatic. Matcha was light and had a slight tea taste.

Surprisingly the prawns tasted unique in a good way. Worth trying - prawns were big and fresh too.

Verdict: 4/5

these XL clams were really HUGE. They were topped with lime, samjang sauce and sago. The play of texture was smart and creative; the clams were also cleaned well unlike some places where we can taste grains of soil/ sand.

yummy and highly recommend this dish. The appetisers in this restaurant fared better than the mains IMO so can do tapas style for revisits!

verdict: 4.5/5

Super flavourful south East Asian style curry with big and fresh mussels. The mussels were cook to perfection, not chewy at all just nice and tastes fresh from the kelong.

Curry gravy is super hearty and comforting. The mantous went really well together. Additional mantous can be ordered with additional 2$ charge.

Would come back for this dish!!

Verdict: 4.5/5

Great starter to wet the appetite. Generous amount of crab meat in the chilli crab sauce and egg sauce blends well together. Man tous are crispy and warm!

The chilli crab sauce is spicy and tangy so really appetising and not jelak at all. Highly recommend this starter.

Verdict: 4/5

Half lean half fatty charsiu; it was well marinated and has strong flavours. But lacking the charred taste/ heat to it. I prefer the Guinness pork ribs to this and have tasted better charsiu else where.

Still worth trying except all the dishes here really hit the spot so this one was not as great comparatively.

Verdict: 3.5/5

Went for the 1-1 deal at Ryan’s Kitchen and IMO this steak was worth the $. The meat was cooked to medium and since I prefer leaner cuts, this was good for me. The portion was generous but lacks a wow factor - it is a comfort weekend brunch food but is not something that left me craving for more.

Verdict: 3.75/5

We ordered the 80% dark choc flavour and it turns out to be the best chocolate ice cream I’ve ever had in my life, no exaggeration! The biscuit soil at the bottom with the caramelised almond was perfect with the ice cream. My friend who was not a dessert person at all also commended the execution of this dessert. Definitely worth trying and would satisfy the sweet tooth cravings any day :)

Verdict: 5/5

Not your typical brunch, all the food here was rlly yummy!!! This wagyu beef cheek rendang is comforting for a rainy day. Could be more spicy but the meat was tender and well seasoned. Rice was hot and went well with the beef even though my friend thought the rice could be more aromatic. To me, it was just right because more aroma could be overpowering.

Has the Burpple 1-1 deal so it was worth every penny! The portions are HUGE and coffee at Elixir is above average. Overall would return for brunch again.

Verdict: 4.25/5

The satay was one of their supposed specialities, but beyond the ‘savoury’ pork option, the other options left much to be desired. The pork intestine and skin is reminiscent of kway chap in hawker centres, which is surprising as they don’t have a charred taste but rather a stewed taste. Overall taste is good but much on the sweet side. Pork taste is strong, so very suitable for those who love meaty dishes.

Verdict: 3/5

Super yummy food at a traditional setting. Think the toast is good but the eefu braised noodles is even better!!!!!!! Must order the noodles. Pork chop is average, can skip. Will come back again.

Overall verdict: 4.25/5

This place is super popular but I find the waffles very mediocre, not sure what the hype is about. It has 1–1 Burpple deal which makes it really cheap but I would not queue for the waffle here.

The ice cream is also so-so. So really not sure why crowds flock here.

Verdict: 2.75/5

Nothing a satisfying meal can’t do
