You can call this the pork version of 盐酥鸡. The problem is it wasn't popcorn pork but came bone-in, which made it quite inconvenient.

How a typical meal looks at 基隆庙口 night market. Most stalls hawk a starchy soup paired with a simple staple, in this case something like glutinous rice. A few pieces of crabmeat at less than $5 is quite worth it.

Taxi uncle told us this 营养三文治 is one of the best items their and a definite must-try. Stuffed with fresh tomatoes, braised eggs, cucumbers, diced turkey, and a generous squeeze of mayo, this fried sandwich is anything but nutritious. While it's not as madly delicious as described, this sinful snack is undoubtedly quite a tasty one. Tell them to put lesser mayo it'll be better!

Note that there are quite a few of this 营养三文治 stalls. You're looking for the one that's part of the metal hawker-esque stalls, operated by 4 ladies.

We didn't know how to order so ended up over ordered lol! These were side dishes to go with mee tai bak soup! I like the noodle very qq!

Another staple the locals use to pair with their starchy soups. I dabao so you can't see but normally it's served with spring onion and a seasoning that really lift this simple dish. Pretty much just dry stir-fried noodles.

Scallion pancakes are everywhere, but this is different and rare. It uses a type of spring onion called 三星葱. Instead of a prata dotted with scallion, this is a pie packed with 三星葱. Overpowering but delicious and well executed.
