Nam Kee does a decent version of this! The soup is savoury and flavourful, with ingredients like spinach, minced meat, egg, ikan bilis, and very tasty braised mushrooms. The mee hoon kueh is hand torn right before your eyes, which I appreciate (as opposed to machine-made ones), but theirs is rather thick and hence becomes doughy when eating a takeaway portion.
The red bean pau is great as well, it’s my favourite flavour of steamed pau. The red bean paste is gao, smooth, and not excessively sweet. Perfect for a snack or for breakfast :)
I love nam kee’s lotus pau! Fluffy with a generous amount of filling, the lotus paste has great texture and flavour - thick, smooth, with just the right amount of sweetness.
