Ordered this hoping it's Taiwanese 贡丸, which are big and delicious, but the ones here are local meatballs, except tougher. Soup was really nice, but I don't know how you taste it without ordering the balls.

Decent. But not sure of the price of this portion, as it came with the set. Very little.

Meat was a decent imitation of Taiwan's - oily but fragrant. Better than majority here, which are not like Taiwan's at all. The slab of steamed egg was sweet and chilled - quite strange. The braised hard-boiled egg was like a rock.

($11.50) For this individual serving of bento set with drink.
Fluffy pearl rice, tender soft braised pork bits, homestyle vegetables, egg and soup.
Highly recommended!

A pretty hidden and unpretentious spot around Whampoa that serves authentic Taiwanese fare. While we felt that the Vermicelli with Pork Chitterlings was a more representative item here, the House Special Braised Pork Rice comes with enough sauce and a good load of chunky bits of tender, braised pork belly for a balanced bite amidst the melty meat. The preserved vegetables helps to cut through the savouriness and meatiness of the dish; the braised egg was done a little solid and served lukewarm – could have been better if served at a warmer temperature.
