Bubble and squeak - a traditional British meal of potatoes, cabbage (well in this case root vegetables) and meat, mixed and fried. This was hearty and pretty tasty!

Scotch eggs are amazing, Heineken is creamy and smooth - and their assistant manager Andy is a gem! Would definitely be back.

Food and ambience is great BUT the service is really sub-par from start to end. For the price I’m paying, I’d rather go elsewhere.

I rarely give poor reviews. But they were really impatient even at 10ish in the morning, when they were half full. Not the kind of way you’d want to start your morning.

When my friend and I arrived, we hesitated/ stuttered before sharing our reservation name and pax because the booking was made by a friend who wasn’t there yet. The waiter immediately told us off before giving us time to check or suggesting for us to check our reservation. Instead he chose to say “it’d make a big difference to the tables, A BIG DIFFERENCE”. While it’s true, his tone was super necessary and harsh. He then walked off leaving another waiter nearby to tend to us.

Later on, we wanted to seek help from a waitress to help us get a photo. Her response was literally “Er no, I don’t want to touch it” and walked away. Without an apology or explanation. Granted that it was our bad, we forgot it was sensitive times and people might not want to touch our belongings. But honestly, can’t think of another restaurant with waiters that’d throw an attitude like that to a paying customer. I mean I’d understand if I were at a coffee shop or hawker centre but not in a cafe like this.

Come at your own risk of meeting snobbish pricks.

The traditional bubble & squeak is a delicious and savoury mix of hash brown and sausages in HP sauce, while the Heuvous Rancheros has an interesting Mediterranean flavour to it, would have been great with a little hummus. The buttermilk pancakes was a delicious end to a savoury meal and I really love how the pancakes were thick and fluffy.

Felt like I couldn't stop there, so I ordered another Specialty Cocktail: the Earl Grey Martini ($18++). I appreciated how the subtle flavours of the chilled Earl Grey Tea really came through, despite the strength of the vodka. A dash of sugar syrup sweetened this cocktail just nicely without making it too saccharine sweet.

Would be back, though probably just for drinks as the food is on the pricey side. Other Specialty Cocktails here include:

• Mango & Pepper Gin & Tonic ($19++): House-infused Mango Gin, topped with cracked black pepper
• Hugalibre ($18++): Angosutra 1919 Rum, Fresh Lime, Ginger Ale

Rabbit Carrot Gun's Specialty Cocktails menu had me taking a second glance. They aren't discounted during Happy Hour... But I still went for these 2. Yes, even without the discount.

Started off with a Smokey Bloody Mary ($21++), which sounds like a match made in heaven. I enjoyed the Taste of Health from the tomato (lol) & also the woody, peatyness from the Old Young's Oak Smoked Vodka. The cheeky spice that hits you at the back of your throat is what I appreciate in a good Bloody Mary, too. In all, this was very enjoyable.
