One of the popular food place along Orchard Road for their authentic soba. You could find this place easily filled up fully during peak hours.

If you are first time here, I definitely recommend you to go with their combi set. It comes with both hot and cold soba for you to enjoy, together with some of their signature fried items like prawn and vegetables.

Chilled plain noodle served with dipping sauce, prawn and vegetable tempura. Fresh soba and nicely friend tempuras, amazing!

Chilled plain noodle served with scallops, mushrooms, vegetables and soft boiled egg in warm dipping broth. Love their soba noodles as it’s made in house daily.

Beef Maze Soba - $17.80
Soba served are made daily at in-house kitchen. It’s softer, thanks to the 80/20 flour mix. I picked their maze soba, which comes with chilled soba and sukiyaki beef. By the side is soft boiled egg with homemade chilli oil dipping sauce. Refreshing yet flavourful meal
Shimbashi Soba

This place never disappoints :’) perfectly cooked soba with the umami soup just hits the spot every time. The prawn tempura was amazing as well, with the prawn retaining its own crunch and when paired with the light crispy batter 🤤 be prepared to wait though but it’s so worth the wait!

We come here only for two things - their soba, and their set meals! The soba is great because Shimbashi gets the texture right, by having the noodles served a little hard. This is another reason we prefer the cold to the hot soba, because for the latter, if you don't have the noodles quickly, they become soggy. :( The restaurant serves the cold soba with dipping sauce, which may be a little salty so don't dip all your noodles in without trying it first, because it may not be to everyone's liking. Add some wasabi for an additional kick to your noodles!

Shimbashi is really generous with their set meals, with the above set costing around $22.80++. For the size of the don and the sides provided (including salad, croquette, watermelon and chawanmushi), it is a really good deal! The set is available on weekday afternoons and evenings, and for the entire day on weekends. So, do get it if you are feeling really hungry!
