Really enjoyed this dish! The bibimbap was served on a hot stone which wasn’t really very hot, topped with vegetables like cucumber, carrot, beansprouts, seaweed, beef, egg and gojuchang sauce. Wished the stone was hotter so that I could get more charred rice, but it still managed to keep the food warm throughout. Ingredients were generous and it wasn’t too spicy, whole dish was very flavourful. The vegetables were crunchy and the beef wasn’t too fatty, was soft and pleasant to eat and tasty.

Surprised to see most of the stalls at the basement of NUH Medical Centre now accept FavePay which was fantastic because I forgot to bring my wallet along to buy lunch today 😣

Been a while since I’ve visited Sunny Korean Cuisine but rainy days call for sweater and porridge weather. This restaurant is always popular with the lunch crowd, and today was no exception, but I got my porridge order very quickly amidst other orders of Saba fish and hotplate meats.

My perennial favourite is the korean beef porridge which is made with brown rice and barley stewed with a generous amount of dried scallops. This makes for such a creamy and rich porridge, there’s no such thing as bland or boring porridge here. The porridge is topped with beef and shredded seaweed. The beef is probably the same as what’s served for the hotplate beef, which is slightly spicy but so good because it’s sliced thin and tender. Sometimes the beef is a little inconsistent as there can be copious amounts of onions thrown in, but today that wasn’t an issue.

At only $5.50 for a hearty and filling bowl, this is one of my favourite porridges around, and one that can go toe to toe with Empress Porridge right around the corner!

Seafood Bibimbap 海鲜拌饭 (S$7)
Served with soup
Super crowded during lunch time. Maybe due to its pocket friendly prices.
Not Authentic Korean Cuisine.
Chinese kitchen staffs.
Although the place was crowded, the staffs would help you to look for tables. They will close one eye 👁 when one bring in subway to eat as long as one also order from them.

A simple beef kimchi ramen which is actually instant noodles in disguise. Still, it makes for a good "cold weather" meal and costs only $5.50. :) 3.7/5

This is my benchmark for army stew as it was where I first had it. I like it because of what is in it: a huge pot of stew, comprising of mushrooms, tofu, sausages, luncheon meat, kimchi, baked beans and more. You will have the choice of either two bowls of rice or two crowns of noodles. Choose from chicken, pork or seafood army stew. No rice cakes, which is fine by me since I don't like them. It is filling even for two people with big appetites and can also be shared among three females. Level one at One@KentRidge, all the way at the end of the corridor. $29.90 for that, with two drinks (water chestnut, calamansi, lemon tea). 4.3/5

The hot stone isn't the real solid kind but offers a bit of char to the rice. I enjoyed the bibimbap here, but then again how wrong can bibimbap go. Pork slices had a good bite to it and wasn't dry. Overall not too spicy but enough to whet the appetite. Price rather affordable at $6.50.
