Super fresh cuts of fish and assorted seafood. This was a platter for 4 pax ($440++)

presentation : 10/10

🤪💘
p.s. this was an off-the-menu dish, so feel free to request it to the waiter or waitress taking your order!

Value-for-money barachirashi Lunch Set at $45! Ate to my heart’s contents. Best Chirashi in SG

Now, I simply can’t wait for the real deal in two days’ time.

This is seriously the cutest chirashi don i’ve ever seen! Not only is it cute, it is really delicious. As expected, the sashimi in this dish is very fresh paired with the slightly sticky Japanese rice! The shrimp was very creamy and nothing smelled gamey at all!

As expected, Tatsuya never disappoints❤️

Chirashi Don (small, untorched)

Many laud this as the best Jap restaurant in SG. Yes def in it's own league. Having a constant thriving customer stream over the years is a testament in itself. But if you are looking for full blown fine-dining kaiseiki/sushi-ya experience, offering kappou-styles etc... for that "intimate" experience, do not come here. This is a Jap restaurant in a casual setting where u get to enjoy fine dining quality foods. Think: Sushi Tei but super premium version.

Will i return/recommend: Yes/Yes

Pros: Good attentive & efficient service. Only place i know that does aburi like this, using high quality seafood (but i have my usual cheaper & good enough place for aburi😂) Salt grilled chicken is SO GOOD. Have yet to come across a bad dish here (maybe tempura). Counter/private room or al fresco seats.
🌹
Cons: Expensive. Maguro sashimi was hard! Will not recommend the dinner omakase for $280++, go elsewhere. Dishes quite decadent but no creative/innovative flair, basically the same throughout the years. On another note, why fix if it aint broken?😁

Price: S$303.65 - 2pax, just nice with enough space for desserts elsewhere (do note this is considered low spending for dinner already 😅)

Decent sushi. That California maki was spot on. But I think there's better lunch sets out there for similar or better prices. Wasn't super stoked that for a $42++ set, 6 pieces of sushi were salmon sushi. And my no-wasabi request was not heeded... which is weird cos we had excellent service - we scored the private tatami room when the hostess decided the neighboring table was too noisy.

Subtle sweet, fresh, creamy and sea-salty, this plate of Uni ($40) redefined "fresh from the ocean"

Fully booked on a Thursday afternoon, Tatsuya is known for their aburi sushi prepared meticulously with the freshest ingredients. Aburi ebi topped w creamy uni, caviar and togarashi w a small slab of warm sushi rice ($20 per sushi) would take a long while to forget 🍣

Definitely one of my fave places for good jap food. Pretty reasonably priced as well if you go for their weekday set lunches.

**not in the menu** This chirashi is top notch with extremely fresh ingredients including abalone, sea urchin, tuna belly, caviar, scallop with foie gras..and more.. Everything melts in your mouth and is so unbelievably good. The price is unbelievably better 💨 $200 lol highly recommended though. 😋

Tatsuya is a long-standing sushi restaurant at Goodwood Park that has managed to maintain its quality over the years. Not many places serve aburi (torched) chirashi, and if you ever decide to try it (which you should), the Aburi Chirashi Bowl here is game-changing. Fresh slices of sashimi imported from Tsukiji Fish Market are seared with a blowtorch, giving you an ever-so-slightly charred exterior that melts in your mouth. However, at $150 for a small bowl and $180 for a big bowl, this extravagant chirashi is something you should save for special occasions. For a more affordable option, go for the Barachirashi set lunch priced at $35.90!

The tempura is lightly battered and is good. But the rest, he said, was decently good but not spectacular.

Flametorch to perfection, with the salmon meat soft and slightly grilled. Nice! 😋😋 definitely top my list for to-go place for aburi sushi!

I really love the fresh sashimi pieces! More details in the next post.
Tempura was lightly battered and doesn't feel oily at all. The chawamushi has hints of yuzu which gives a refreshing taste but I thought it could be more flavorful.
The bed of sushi rice was good, and the piece of tamago even had their logo imprinted on it. Pretty!

My friend ordered the highly recommended barachirashi don which came with fresh, sweet and well marinated sashimi chunks and of course their signature tamagoyaki. The large cubes of sashimi made each mouthful sooo satisfying! We also thought this place has one of the better tuna sashimi in SG.

Super worth it for the quality! You get to sit at the counter and watch the chefs in action preparing your meal right in front of you, like some restaurants in Japan! yummy unagi altgough I prefer the thicker cuts. Then again this set comes with fresh sashimi, fried tempura that werent too oily and heavy, plain chawanmushi and fruits! The chawanmushi had a zesty yuzu-like after taste which I cant indentify and also didnt manage to ask the staff. I loved it though my friend thought it was a tad sour for her. Also, there is also a tamagoyaki with the name of the restaurant on it, that too was made and cooked perfectly. The place is normally crowded during lunch so be sure to make your reservations.

Tatsuya has one of the best chiraishis in Singapore! Although it's expensive, it's always nice to treat yourself once in a while 😉

One of the top chirashi dons on our list of favourites!

The $34.90++ lunch bara chirashi bento set is packed with value as it comes with an appetizing salad, silky chawanmushi, savory agadeshi tofu and a selection of fruits. Excellent executive lunch, we must say!
