The Rong Guang Kitchen (Hougang Mall)

I'm surprised to see this open a foodcourt stall. I don't know their relationship with Star Yong Kwang but they all sell grilled seafood. Unfortunately this was no better. Some of the worst stingray I've eaten. Decent sambal but the meat was little, dry and stuck to the bones. The best thing was the broccoli.

Rong Guang BBQ Seafood is best known for their delicious seafood at Simpang Bedok. For non-easties, fret not because they have just opened their newest outlet serving up just as amazing hotplate seafood in Hougang Mall! Here’s what we got to try when we dropped by for lunch:

This was a generous serving of chicken and ee-fu noodles served piping hot. The chicken was cooked tender and tasted herbal-icious. This would make for a filling meal.

Just look at all the spicy sotong we got! They definitely did not hold back on the spices here and this went down so well with rice. We also really like that each hotplate comes with a baked potato.

𝗛𝗼𝘁 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝘁 ($𝟭𝟭)
The stingray was fresh and flakey, and the sambal paste on top was a good balance of sweet and spicy! Altogether, this made the stingray especially juicy and flavourful.
