The Sushi Bar (Far East Plaza) Venue hot100

2288 Wishlisted

~$35/pax

The Sushi Bar is a small cosy restaurant where we aim to let customers enjoy good Japanese food over a couple of drinks at an affordable price. The restaurant is aimed towards customers who appreciate premium quality food but only to find these foods overpriced at other sushi bars.

From the Burpple community

This popular no-frills Japanese spot in Far East Plaza needs no introduction, and the crowd speaks for itself. Bring a sashimi-loving date here for a delicious meal. Order the luscious Salmon ($5.90) and buttery Hamachi ($10.90) sashimi to get the best of both worlds with 1-for-1. For something more substantial, you can't go wrong with the ever-popular and generously portioned Chirashi Don ($24.90).

Items ordered: sashimi (3 slices for $5.90) - can use burpple to get 1 for 1, salmon aburi ($16.90)

Food: 5/5 - absolutely fresh sashimi
Ambiance: 3.5/5 - can get crowded, and also I feel like I’m sitting too close to the customers next to me
Service: 4/5 - food came in a pretty decent amount of time
Overall experience: 4/5

The first piece I had was the best! Piping hot fried salmon fin was bursting with flavor from the batter, meat and fish fat. Paired with spicy mayo or with wasabi and soy sauce and it's so delicious. In fact there was so much oily bits that I imagine all that Omega 3 goodness pulsing through my mouth, down my throat. But it became harder as we started feeling more "jelak" from all the fish oil.

So I'd recommend, eat with a nice glass of beer!
