烧鸭 x 烧肉
88 Hong Kong Roast Meat Specialist nails it!
Roast duck boasts juicy meat, while roast pork belly's crackling skin and melt-in-your-mouth fat (almost jelly-like!) will leave you craving more.
Unbeatable value at just $8.80!
Lava egg for $1 add on.

I dare say this store has one of the best char siew in the whole of Singapore....forget about the roast duck (it's just average) and forget about the roasted pork (skin is crackling but so so fatty and oily), just head straight for the charsiew plus your choice of rice or noodles. The noodles are good but I prefer the rice as a blank canvas to the sweet saltiness of the charsiew and its sauce. For sides, the nai bai cai had an addictive sauce and the fried wontons was pretty filling and good. Otherwise, yeah a good place to satisfy your roast meat (read: charsiew) cravings although watch out for all the oil and fats.

Wanton Mee($6) + Sio Bak($3) + Lava Egg($1.50)

Sio Bak used to be the best here. The Char siew and Roasted Duck have since leapfrogged above them in my estimation.

Like their Noodles here too.

Only 2 Wantons in a Wanton Mee.

Back again at 88 HKRMS, had the duck drumstick noodles this time.

Duck meat was tender and easily slides off the bone. The duck skin was so good.

The chilli and the noodles goes so well together with the fried pork lard.

A few vegetables thrown in to make the dish less sinful (lying to myself).

Definitely coming back here again

My go to place for roast meats, visit them around 11am when they are fresh out of the oven...

Known to be one of the best shao la or roast meat stalls in Singapore, I must say their meats are really of standard.

We got 3 different meats and an egg for 2 pax ($19.30) which we do find slightly more expensive than other places. The roast pork belly pieces were very well executed, as the skin is not only really crispy, but airy as well. The meat itself stays succulent and flavourful. The roast duck pieces were tender and flavourful from the herbal ingredients used to season it.

I believe the winner of all their meats is their char siu, as not only it was really tender, it comes with a layer of pork skin which was well caramelised with the sweet savoury sauce around the meat. I dare say this is one of the best char siu I've had.

Their chilli sauce are to be commended as well, as they not only pack a punch, they were savoury and garlicky too. Perfect with rice!

Definitely worth a visit if you are around the area!
