A Masterpiece Of Raw Talent. As though art directed purely for aesthetic reasons, the “Omega Bakudan Don” ($130) from @kishosg is an undeniably pretty palette of #PantoneColors. Yet, it is on the palate where it casually flexes its prowess as a masterpiece. @Chef_Kazu_Hamamoto first lays a base with duo of rice before going over it with thick “colour blocks” of different seafood that manages to evoke a gradient effect since it begins with the pale pink, fat-laced Wild-caught Blue Fin Otoro and segues into the light, creamy ochre of Hokkaido Bafun Uni before deepening to a luminous orange, that of housemade Shoyu Ikura and Chef’s own marinated organic egg yolk. The final two are almost a perfect match in vividness. Should you desire to partake in this precise artform where the ocean’s raw talent is presented by Chef Kazu in a deconstructed yet graphic style, look no further. Part Of $450++ Omakase Among the top sushi restaurants in Singapore, 2-Michelin-star Shoukouwa is my least liked, whereas no-star Ki-sho is my fav. Perhaps because in season it’s usually an uni orgy that sends sea urchin lovers to Cloud Nine. For the best experience, splurge for the $450++ Omakase dinner menu. Generous use of premium and extremely fresh ingredients, diversity of styles, and mastery of techniques by talented chef Hamamoto.

Limited Edition For This Weekend Only: Jukhyang Strawberry Tart G I F T E D The sweet-as-a-Premium-Korean-Strawberry @chefolivia of @brandfitsg surprised me with a token of appreciation yesterday evening 🥰. And what a stunner it was. Trust Les Amis Group’s Executive Pastry Chef Cheryl of “Tarte By Cheryl Koh” to showcase the Jukhyang strawberry from Korea which is also known as “The Royalty of Strawberries” in a most befitting style - that of a tart which resembles a crown. The large, boldly-scented fruit’s fresh sweetness and light acidity was complemented deliciously by vanilla custard and a delicately thin, crisp pastry crust. The good news is due to Brandfit’s support in supplying these highly-prized Jukhyang strawberries to “Tarte By Cheryl Koh”, this special large tart can now be purchased at the chic bakery in Shaw Centre. The bad news is it’s only available for this weekend (meaning today and tomorrow). So I suggest calling ahead to reserve one if you want to be sure not to miss out.

📍tarte by cheryl koh; singapore📍blood orange tart perfection in a bite was probs the best way to describe it. the tart was crumbly with a cookie-like texture & the panna cotta base was unbelievably smooth and soft even after a night. the oranges were a delight; super fresh & the light sugar glaze offset the tartness of the oranges. we def went up to dessert heaven (if there’s one) after every mouthful.

You Can Now Drive-Thru And Pick Up This Fabulous Burger Voted #1 In A Blind Taste Test By “The Straits Times”. BurgerLabo-ing in the time of COVID19 means getting my order of their “Basic Burger” ($18) to takeaway. Fortunately, the fully-assembled creation travels really well. In between the fluffy customised buns by @bakerybrera is 120gms of juicy and beautifully-charred premium beef patty topped with melted cheese, housemade shio kombu mayo, fresh tomato and lettuce. I must confess I couldn’t quite wait till I reached home to scoff mine 😂 But my family members assured me their respective BB burgers to be most enjoyable when they ate it. I also found out that as of today, the Naked Finn team has made takeaway even more convenient with a drive-thru service. NEW Bento Sets as well as a list of Ready-To-Cook frozen items have also been added to this menu. The latter includes marinated chicken leg (recipe by Chef Julien Royer of Three MICHELIN Starred Odette restaurant) and grilled organic cauliflower soup. All of these can all be picked up without leaving your car but do remember to still wear a mask when you leave your home. For the full menu, please visit: www.nakedfinn.com To place an order, call 6694 0807 or 8828 1478 from 11 am to 8 pm any day of the week.

The Famous Basic Burger Of BurgerLabo Is Available Here And It’s Even Tastier Now! When we learnt of the recent developments made to the now-famous Basic Burger (yes, besides BurgerLabo, you can get it here too), it was impossible to not order one. Besides the switch to customised buns from @bakerybrera which means being able to resize the patty to 120gms and lowering the price to $18++, the sauce is the latest component to be tweaked. It now features a calamansi kosho mayo which really enhances the beefiness and overall deliciousness of the burger. My friend Angeline and I were very impressed and enjoyed every bite of it.

Baked Otah ($20++) Naked Finn’s take on the Otah has the gonads and mantle of farmed local scallops buried within the rempah paste. The shallow dish means the Otah is flattish in form and dryer than moist. It is aromatic and quite spicy though so a little goes a long way. Good for sharing if you enjoy bold flavours.

Charcoal Grilled Japanese A5 Wagyu (Shin-Shin) This is a part of the cow thigh ($40 for 100grams) with a fine, soft texture and rich flavor. It's my new favorite cut because it is so tender, so juicy with just the perfect bite to it. Served with salt, garlic chips, mustard and wasabi which the beef honestly didn't need because it was super flavorful on its own. It was this gorgeous medium rare pink with the perfect charred crust on the outside. Even the portion size was perfect for a single bite. The meat quality was obviously top-grade. An excellent Japanese-style steakhouse which takes its meat seriously. 10/10

Yukke Masa Style This is minced raw beef with sukiyaki sauce, raw egg yolk and spring onion. There are no words adequate to describe how ambrosial this dish ($20) tasted. The beef is so soft, tender and fatty, it just melted in my mouth like butter. The sukiyaki sauce was that perfect mix of sweet and salty, bringing forth the umami flavors of the beef. And the egg yolk was the magic that brought it all together; by mixing it with the sukiyaki sauce, it formed a thick, sweet, rich gravy that coated every single piece of beef, ensuring that every mouthful exploded with flavor. The portion of sauce to beef was perfect, and the spring onions added just that slight tinge of freshness and crunch. What a perfect marriage of flavors, and what a way to make minced beef (not the most glamorous of cuts) really shine.

Wagyu Beef Tataki This was my first taste of raw beef ($20) and it was so good. Slices of raw wagyu beef resting on top of a bed of creamy marinated onions with a balsamic vinegar sauce. Take a slice of raw beef, roll it up some onions and dredge it through the balsamic vinegar. The sharpness of the onion and the soft fatty tender beef goes so well together. And there's that tartness that is injected by the balsamic vinegar. Simple, classic ingredients, but so delicious. And aesthetically its just plated in such a refined, delicate manner too, showcasing that beautiful marbling of beef.

Sea Salt Gula Melaka & Pistachio Soft Serve on Waffle The soft serves are still pretty good, with a nice balance between sweet and salty for the sea salt gula, and a pleasant nutty flavour from the pistachio, although I wouldn’t consider it very strong. The waffle standards seemed to have dropped. The mochi toopjng is still delicious though!

Sunday Folks Signature Pistachio Waffle . •Signature roasted Pistachio baked waffles ($11.50) •Add waffle ($2.80) *price excludes svc charge & gst - Roasted pistachio ice cream, roasted pistachio nuts, lotus biscoff biscuit, maple syrup and chocolate sauce - If you guys don’t know, Sunday Folks and Creamier is under the same company🍦. The first time I went to SF, I went straight to choosing my creamier go-to flavour - Earl grey lavender (no doubt its good!) but I’m really glad I opted for roasted pistachio this time round!😁 - I was surprised I liked the roasted pistachio ice cream better than the earl grey lavender one in SF because in creamier, I like the earl grey lavender better, maybe because of the texture. SF serve softserve while creamier is like gelato🍨, so they scoop from a tub. - The roasted pistachio ice cream is not too overpowering at all, its very mild but still impactful which I like (I don’t like rich, zhong kou wei stuff)👍 Presentation, gooddd! I didn’t need much effort to beautify it🤓 - The waffle😍.... It doesn’t only smell good but taste very good too! They did a really great job on the batter! The waffle is soft and not so cripsy on the outside so don’t expect those big, hard, crunchy kind of waffle. - Price wise, tbh I’m a little sad they only gave us 1 waffle for $11.50/$13.50 if you wanna DIY your own but maybe the ice cream here is bigger and they gave toppings? I personally think creamier is way more affordable with the same quality/satisfaction, just no topping lot which tbh I don’t care about - Verdict: will definitely come back if I’m around Holland V la although the price is kinda steep haha 💸. That’s why in f&b business, the most important thing is the taste because if your food is good, most Singaporeans would be willing to pay.

Earl Grey Lavender & Sea Salt Gula Melaka Soft Serve Earl Grey Lavender Soft Serve w/ Single Waffle ($10++) 📸: back left the soft serve is creamy and smooth, with a hint of lavender, waffle is warm, chewy and goes really well with the soft serve, topped with almond crisps & a few small pieces of strawberry Sea Salt Gula Melaka Soft Serve w/ Single Waffle ($10++) 📸: front preferred this over the lavender one, not a big fan of the lavender fragrance. the sea salt gula melaka taste was quite strong and goes really nicely with the caramel sauce. really enjoyed the gula melaka flavour which didn’t taste artificial / too sweet :) 1 soft serve waffle + drink of choice as a set cost about ~$17 with ++ which was abit overpriced. the hot chocolate was really good though! the soft serve melts pretty fast so take the pics fast!!!

Proscuitto Parma Ham Pizza Thin crust, crispy edges &generous amount of parma ham as well as wild rockets! Usually pizzas elsewhere tend to have a thick spread of the tomato paste on the crust. But this one has only a thin layer of it, hence the pizza doesn't taste too heavy in flavour! There's parma ham in every bite and the rockets give your palate a good cleanse. This combi nv fails! We wished that the parma ham wasn't baked together with the pizza thou, we prefer them more undercooked to retain the natural aroma of the meat. One of the lightest pizza i had, totally not jelat! I particularly love the crispy, airy edges. They've this scent of the dough.. sooo gooood~ &Not to forget, their chilli flakes are really spicy and fragrant! Go easy on that.

Homemade TRUFFLE EGG PASTA! The truffle cream smells mega rich yet the taste isn't overpowering like many other truffle-flavoured food out there! The scent is so alluring and only leaves us wanting more! The texture is similar to that of cream mushroom soup, coating the pasta well. Scallops are cooked to perfection, not overcooked with those dry flaky texture! We could also taste that the prawns are those sea prawns, not those frozen farmed ones! Fresh &succulent. The egg pasta are cooked al dente but i wish they can be slightly more chewy (aka QQ)! This was my boyfriend's favourite dish! We even dipped the crust of the pizza into the leftover truffle sauce. FINGER LICKING GOOD!

Risotto al Granchio ($18++), is a crab meat risotto with zucchini and cherry tomatoes in their homemade marinara sauce. This dish definitely had a homey and unpretentious feel to it. Simple, yet delicious. The staff (or is the lady the owner?) also seemed to be chatty and friendly with patrons. Thanks @justinfoodprints for the restaurant recommendation!
