This Shanghai-based chain specialises in customisable hotpots-in-bowls. Great if you’re rushing for a flight and craving mala on-the-go — all you gotta do is pick from a list of ingredients and wait for your takeaway order to be ready. Ingredients were fresh, and loved the nicely balanced mala sauce — neither too spicy nor too numbing. Do order the super chewy sweet potato vermicelli, fresh sea bass and tender pork belly slices! If you wanna kick it up a notch, help yourself to the DIY chilli flakes or creamy sesame sauce available at the takeaway counter.

This tender and juicy chicken was part of the Burpple Beyond 1-for-1 Dinner Set deal here, and lemme tell ya — we felt like we were robbing a bank! Total bill was just $18 for each person, inclusive of one main, one side and a drink each. How worth it is that?!

Do check out this chic eatery if you’re planning for dinner around the area. Great food, chill vibes and groovy 80s playlist — sold!

Yum and refreshing açai bowls with generous portions! The medium bowl can easily fill two people up nicely. Got these alongside a matcha latte and hojicha latte. Total damage was just $15 for two açai bowls and two lattes! Super sick 1-for-1 Burpple Beyond deal.

Also appreciated the contrast in flavours stemming from the smoky, charred top and the creamy, milky centre. Cheese notes were not strong in this one though, as this one tends towards the sweet side. Not that I’m complaining, but fans of a more pungent, cheesy kick, you’re better off going for the blue cheese-based one at Olivia’s instead.

All-time fave nasi lemak in sg! Torn between the rendition here and Boon Lay Power Nasi Lemak’s. Picked their signature nasi lemak with chicken breast this time, which is a new option on the menu. Whilst the rub was still wonderfully fragrant and the breast meat was tender, it could not hold a candle to the famed, juicy chicken legs here. In essence: same old delicious nasi lemak with fantastic, fragrant rice, runny egg, crispy ikan billis and sedap sambal — just stick to the chicken leg, and you’re all set for a consistently fantastic meal.

This dish has been on my wish list for the longest time, and I’m glad I finally got to try it today. Soup was flavourful, and really liked the super crispy roast pork. Wish the kway retained more bite and the soup could be more peppery. A decent meal to have around the area, but perhaps not mind blowing enough for me to warrant a return trip.

What a delight this was — juicy and plump pork filling encased in a fluffy, slightly sweet bun pan fried to golden brown perfection. Ahhhh, will definitely be coming back for more of this, and perhaps their chilli oil dumplings as well.

Not a fried food fan, but this dish was lovely! Fuel up on this pre-drinks, and you’ll be set for the rest of the night. Think crisp and light batter encasing a fresh dory fish that went perfectly with hand cut potato crisps — lightly salted, with just the right amount of thickness and bite. Don’t forget to dip ‘em all in that perfectly-zingy-without-being-too-cloying homemade tartare sauce. Yum!

Caution: this one’s strong! Think a generous amount of gin, lemon basil and cucumber — expect a refreshing but punchy tipple that will creep up on you unknowingly. If stronger drinks are your thing, this is right up your alley.

If sweet-savoury desserts are your thing, you’ll love this! Think creamy mango soft serve coupled with salty, shredded cheese with a little bite. Yum!

Creamy, rich and sweet mango soft serve coupled with super fresh mango cubes that went well with the crumbly, slightly salty graham crackers. Only thing I did not like was the drizzle of sweet cream all over, which made it a little cloying. Other than that, if you love mango, this is a must-try!

Unassuming corridor joint that serves up quick and tasty rice takes away bowls! We had the Double Cooked Marinated Beef Slices, Stewed Beef Brisket with Tomato and Stir-Fried Cabbage.

All components were delicious! Beef slices and brisket were tender, stir-fried cabbage was flavourful and wok-fried with fragrant Sichuan pepper. Would come back and get this again if I were around the area. What’s more, we used Burpple Beyond’s 1-for-1 deal for these two bowls, which was super worth it!
