I LOVED THIS SO MUCH!!!! Everybody’s gotta try it at least once in this lifetime. Soup was so tasty, crab was so juicy and sweet too. Super satisfying meal!!

Add this coffee bar in International Plaza to your Wishlist for your next caffeine run. The beans are roasted by the same guys behind Community Coffee, so expect excellent stuff. Currently made with a Guatamalan blend in the hopper, the Long Black ($4) gets our stamp of approval. Those who prefer a milder flavour will appreciate the White ($4.50) with a smooth finish. Coffee's takeaway-only, so bring your own tumblers!

Hailing from Chiang Mai, this hidden gem nestled within Chef's Avenue food court deserves attention for more than just the award-winning latte art. Most are here for the Satan's Latte ($5), a milkier version that allows for more intricate latte art. But if you like your coffee strong, go for the Ficardie ($4.50) that resembles magic-like potency with double ristrettos. There are only four counter seats, so have your tumblers ready for takeaways.

When it comes to good coffee, tasty toasts and chirpy service in the morning, this Chijmes gem delivers with standards. The beautiful glasshouse interior will put you in a stellar mood to start the day, as will the fragrant Filter Coffee ($7.50) — made with picks of the week from the likes of Cata Coffee and Homeground Coffee Roasters. Alternatively, the creamy Flat White ($5) with double shot also gets our stamp of approval.

Two favourites out of From Mama Africa items we tried. I really liked the complexity the smoked fish added into former, while I loved the brightness of the goat curry thanks to the lemon’s acidity.

This African name along Jiak Chuan road rocks a stunning second-storey made for lounging over coffee and good company. You're here for the signature drinks. Coffee junkies should look to the intense Ibada Ritual ($6), four ristretto shots over Hokkaido milk. Also a must-order is the Bidi Bado ($6) — Utu-style mocha rimmed with pink peppercorn, almonds and peanut butter. Yum.

While this chic Serangoon spot rose to popularity for the Jaffles (from $6), it also manages to impress on the coffee side of things. Made with Cata Coffee beans, the brews are beautifully balanced. Go for the Flat White ($5), which also comes in oat milk option for a light, nutty sip.

Head down to under-the-radar spot in the basement of Far East Plaza the next time you're out for that post-lunch coffee break. Beans here are roasted by Compound Coffee Co. (the same guy who used to run the show at now-defunct VXX!), so you can count on an ultra smooth medium-bodied drink. As a bonus, $1 from every cup of coffee goes to charity.

Slow down and savour your coffee at this new, white-walled cafe. Go for the Colombia El Mirador ($4.50), an excellent white with graham cracker notes. Their filter roasts change on a weekly basis, perfect if you like trying something new. Bonus points for the ceramics — seductively comfortable to hold and look at.

Run by second-generation coffee roasters with real heart and passion, here’s a tiny neighbourhood hideout for quiet time. Come for Single Origin Sundays, when they feature a single origin coffee every Sunday at their espresso bar.

The Uni Ikura Angel Hair Pasta features a truffle-infused Japanese sea urchin sauce. Nestled on the pasta was a dollop of fresh uni and caviar, with supporting elements of salmon roe tumbling down the sides.
