With all honesty, I've never heard of 'mentaiko' before. The first time trying Mentaiko fries just made me fall in love with it. Not a fan of fries because I'm not a potato lover (plus fries reminds me of macdonalds fries which is extremely unhealthy). To add on, I absolutely dislike mayo because I hate anything that is creamy or mayo-y taste (if I'm right to say that mayo is creamy?). But Mentaiko just made me break this hatred because it's mixed with mayo (say whuttt). Okay basically it's the sauce that is so addictive that even a person like me will keep craving for it. Bottomline is, Grub has wonderful side dishes.
Away from the crowd. Somewhere to relax and have a great breakfast or brunch during the weekend.
yes this is the place
Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Okok, maybe you can have one piece lah :)
Espresso with steamed milk & rose syrup - loved this cuppa but for coffee lovers this is reaaaaally mild. More like Bandung with a tiny hint of espresso.
Old school, unassuming, this cafe was converted from an old provision shop. Non-air conditioned so we left pretty soon.
Made with Espresso and Hong Kong Milk Tea, great for people who likes rich and creamy flavours. A little pricy though, $6.50 for this slice!
Simple breakfast set. Lovely retrospective place.
Two eggs fried quick. Maggi seasoning. Fresh coriander. Sweet tomatoes. Chilli padi. All clasped between two halves of a Vietnamese-style bun to make one cool Asian sandwich. I do wish the ratio of egg to bread could be higher. But then again, I am someone who can never have enough egg 😉
From the stall downstairs. Pleasantly surprised!
This fairly new Ang Mo Kio spot offers good coffee, pancakes, baked goods, and simple mains like Fish and Chips or Pasta Carbonara. It's a nestled in a pretty quiet area, check them out for a quiet weekend respite !
Although the food can be served faster. Think this is the only café I came across so far that play Chinese pop music at the background. Tokyo will be sure to dig this café if he's here too.
