First time coming across this restaurant which serves a variety of less common street food of Malaysia in a no-frill clean environment within the malls; giving the old guards like Old Town, some healthy competition. This curry Chee Cheong Fun (steamed rice roll) has all the elements of a good comfort food: fresh curry, soft silky rice roll, fried fishball, fishcake and soy skin roll. Though not a common combo here in Singapore it was throughly enjoyable.
Lost for words, simplest yet unforgettable. The grilled pork slices (finally introduced to Ippudo Singapore) is how roast pork has to be done. Comes in the clear broth and spring onion, simple yet complete.

For those who used to frequent the corner coffee shop along Armenian Street, you would recall two stalls in it. The Char Kway Teow and the Wu Xiang store. Since the coffee shop had made way for new swanky offices, the owners of the wu xiang store has problems finding a new location. They first moved to the Chinese Swimming Club and set up store next to the swimming pool. Business was not as brisk as only members are allowed to enter the club. After a two years hiatus, the owner's wife informed that they had set up store att 128 Tembeling Road. This coffee shop also house the famous Ang Mo Noodles with Wanton.
Anyway on to the food. The prawn cracker is freshly made and cooked on the spot. So it is piping hot and crispy when served. Also high recommended are the sotong, ngoh hiang and also the pink coloured sausages (some people call it Guan Chiang). The beehoon is not fantastic but I always ask for large helping of ikan bilis to complement the dish.
Some will never understand the literal translation of the name of this dish, but I will infer that it’s figurative to suggest the dish is “saliva dripping good”! Xi Yan’s version is confusing because it’s combining 2 Sichuan classic appetizers 口水鸡(Sichuan chilled chicken) and 青椒皮蛋 (Century eggs with diced capsicum). It does not have the typical chilli oil but vinegary with chopped cilantro and peanuts. The interesting combo to enjoy both appetizers in one order!
Incredibly tasty wagyu slices, not so petite, just nice bite size with a portion leaving you craving... My dinner partner does not like the fact that it’s fatless and somewhat less flavourful. Love the fried Hasselback Potato which has the crisp edges of frites and the starchy core! It’s almost stole the show!

Some food you don’t even need to taste it to know you’ll like it. Such is the name of this bun at Bread & Hearth. We were so keen to try the various offerings at the bakery including its signature croissant, quiche, scone, super soft ciabatta sandwich. I had to wait till my second visit before trying this awesome bun! Be warned, It’s loaded with peanut butter.
Surprisingly this was the best item at a shabu-shabu dinner. Topped with cheese, special spicy sauce and mayo.
