[RAFFLES PLACE, SINGAPORE] Easily the top 3 ramen in Singapore. I was looking forward to trying this new ramen restaurant @menshox_sg that has opened recently, and it definitely did not disappoint.

The Toripaitan Ramen ($17) was HEAVY in its chicken essence and full of umami flavours. If you like a deep rich tonkotsu kind of soup, then this is for you. Although the soup tasted really meaty, it was surprisingly clean and well-layered without any odour. The al dente noodles managed to catch alot of the soup and it was so slurp worthy! They don't neglect the toppings too, as the char siu slices were very tender and flavourful. Egg was expensive at an additional $3, but it was perfectly cooked and rather huge.

If you are a big eater, please get their kaedama or additional portion of noodles, as the first order is free. A tip is to request a bowl of their plain chicken broth to add into your leftover ramen soup with the extra noodles. You will be surprised, the chicken broth is not salty at all, but FULL OF FLAVOUR. That creamy tone is really from boiling the chicken bones for hours. This gives an extra depth to the soup, while reducing its saltiness!

This was such an enjoyable experience (which you can tell from my empty bowl). Service was good as well and there wasn't much of a queue surprisingly! Really recommend y'all ramen lovers out there to give this a try ๐Ÿ˜

[RAFFLES PLACE, SINGAPORE] Right smack in the heart of the bar area in CBD is a new Mexican bar that you need to try at least once. With daily 1 for 1 alcohol promo (that amount to just $6/glass for some spirits ๐Ÿคฏ) and quality food, you may be just a few metres away from a good evening.

We started with their Frozen Margheritas ๐Ÿธ ($14) and they were absolutely refreshing. The calamansi one was my go-to with nice citrusy notes. This drink is dangerous, as I didn't taste the alcohol much but it kicked it late but strong towards the end of the cup ๐Ÿคฃ

To pair with your alcohol, you need some good sides, and their Fried Cauliflower ๐Ÿฅฆ ($8) might be your choice item. Light crispy batter with a soft creamy inside, this was hella addictive and I found myself digging deep into the homemade coriander chilli crema too.

Now when it comes to the mains, you NEED to get their Quesadilla de Cameron ๐ŸŒฎ ($14). Full of cheese, this was so satisfying and filled with ingredients. The prawns within were snappy, and the mango salsa gave it a touch of sweetness that helped to cut through the richness.

Out of all the tacos we've had, the Tacos de Pascado ๐ŸŸ ($18 for 2) seemed to be the crowd favourite. Tender, succulent meaty fish chunks, and rich and tangy salsa and sauces really went well together to form a satisfying bite.

At such a prime location, relatively abundant seats for groups and great happy hours, you are bound to have a great time here. Thank you @amigos.sg for inviting and for the wonderful meal ๐Ÿ˜

[SOMESET, SINGAPORE] If you are looking for some good fusion dishes, @chenmapo_doufu's new concept Chen's Kitchen is really one place to consider!

I've always thought Mapo Tofu needs to be spicy for it to be delicious, little did I know that their White version ๐Ÿฒ ($28.90) is equally as delicious. With just the "ma" from the peppercorns, this was very garlicky as well which makes it an ultimate rice stealer.

Speaking of which, their Fatty Egg Garlic Chahan ๐Ÿš ($12.90) will make a good accompaniment to the dishes. It had loads of umami and flavour, all without being too savoury. The rice itself was very fluffy and soaked up the flavour of the wagyu fat well!

We also couldn't get enough of their Kurozu Kurobuta ๐Ÿท ($22.90), due to its relatively tender, rich meat in a sweet savoury sauce. It's like sweet sour pork, but zhnged up to another level.

To pair their savoury dishes, their Chen's Ginger Ale ($6.90) and Mala Pecan Ice Cream ($4.80) are interesting choices. Both drink and dessert have mala incorporated in them and I tell you, I found them both really delicious!

Actually can't wait to bring people here to try out more dishes. If you are coming here during lunch, their lunch sets can be quite affordable and substantial, ranging between $15-20 per set. Thank you Chen's for the invite ๐Ÿ˜

[DHOBY GHAUT, SINGAPORE] Just look at those cuties, how can I eat them?! @kemingbingsat_sg offers quite a huge variety of quality dishes at affordable prices that would fit most occasions! We tried so many dishes and here are my must-orders:

Happiness Lava Egg Waffles ๐Ÿฅš ($6.90 for 4) - those are the cuties I was talking about. Best eaten hot, they were so soft and fluffy, with a melty cheesy custard which accentuated the richness of the waffle. This will make either a good breakfast or an appetizer!

Char Siew Rice ๐Ÿ– ($10.90) - this was such a surprise bomb. The char siew came in thick slices, and they were so succulent and flavourful. Definitely top 5 char siew I've had so far. You can even customise it and ask for more fatty cuts! The rice was also fluffy and great to have on its own.

If you like your milk tea thick, then the Little Bear Iced HK Milk Tea โ˜• ($4.90) is for you. This milk tea was very thick, smooth and yet not too sweet, and it does not get watered down because the Ice Bear just adds more milk tea as it melts down. An absolute delight to have.

We were quite impressed overall by the dishes served! Definitely coming back again. Thank you @kemingbingsat_sg for the food!

[HOUGANG, SINGAPORE] Fish soup fans, this is for you. If you love a deep savoury umami soup, this is one bowl you need to try. Ah Shun Fish Soup's rendition of black and white fish soup ($7/10) is definitely not healthy at all ๐Ÿคฃ with a huge emphasis on flavour. The soup itself is heavy on its fish broth flavour and is further accentuated by the fried shallots. Their fried fish slices are placed separately, and there is a reason why. The batter was amazingly light & crunchy, with a deep dried fish flavour. I highly suspect they put some kind of dried fish powder in the batter as well. This makes it extremely addictive!

Yes, the bowl I have here is $10 and may seem expensive to many, but the quality of fresh fish slices really seems to justify the high cost. The texture was soft yet firm, and has a really good bite to it. You get about 6-7 slices of that sweet succulent fish for you to savour each bite!

With about a 40 min wait time during peak weekend hours, will I do it again? Maybe not anytime soon, but when I do, I know it's gonna be a good treat.

[JOO CHIAT, SINGAPORE] I think many people probably had @tomocafesg cloud coffee or eispanner, but I'm happy to share that their Tonkatsu Sando ($20) is a joy to have as well!

I was very pleasantly surprised by how crispy the crust was, and how tender the meat was as well ๐Ÿ˜ the tonkatsu cutlet came pretty thick and massive, and it gave a good snap biting through it. It was not dry at all too! The tonkatsu itself was already better than many of the local speciality tonkatsu shops I've went ๐Ÿคฏ 2 pieces of soft buttery broiche bread sandwiched the tonkatsu, and I really loved the tangy sauce used! Fries were great, though nothing much to shout too much about.

What's even better is that you can use Grab DineOut discounts here! Had a 15% discount which made my brunch more worthwhile ๐Ÿ˜‹

[ONE NORTH, SINGAPORE] If you want a good traditional cheeseburger, @yeoldecow got your back. They have a hidden food truck available in the One North Lyf Hotel area which I like to visit for my work lunches if I am craving for a good burger!

Their OG ($20) is a MUST to get. 2 aged beef patties smashed and grilled till crispy, 2 melty American cheese, cameralised onions and their house mayo sandwiched between 2 well buttered buns are all you need for a good burger. It was so flavourful, rich and beefy; each bite was full-on indulgence!

You can add on their Plain Fries ($6) as well, which I suggest sharing as it's a huge portion. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, they were well executed too!

They have seats available at the side! Very well recommended for the One North working crowd :)

[ORCHARD, SINGAPORE] These photos really don't do justice to how much we loved both dishes we ordered! I have had @picolino.sg a few times and these 2 dishes really don't go wrong.

Cacio E Pepe ($19) is a simple pasta dish that is hard to do very well, but Picolino nailed it with their rendition. The Malfade pasta was the right choice, catching cheese and pepper well at every grove. It was al dente and we loved the chewy texture! The cheese pepper sauce itself was GLORIOUS. It was flavourful but not too intense, and the cheese was the right amount as it wasn't too cloying. The fried egg was a nice touch, with gooey yolk to add extra richness.

I also finally tried the Picolino's Burrata Pizza ($28) and I was ADDICTED. The pesto sauce was really garlicky and the tomato sauce further accentuated the fresh flavour from this pizza. The crust at the bottom was surprisingly crispy, although it seemed soaked with all the sauces. The cherry on top is the burrata cheese, which added extra richness!

After dining at picolino a couple of times, I feel like their dishes can be a big hit or a miss sometimes, but these 2 dishes will definitely make your belly happy. Can't wait to be back to eat these 2 again ๐Ÿคฃ

[TANJONG PAGAR, SINGAPORE] I think @fortunaitaliantrattoria needs no introduction, and we finally paid a visit here! We ordered so much ๐Ÿ˜‚ and here are some of our favourites:

If you can only order 1 pizza, get their fried versions! The Fried Smoked Margherita Pizza ๐Ÿ• ($29) was absolutely heavenly, not only because the toppings themselves were amazing, but the crust as well. The crust was crispy yet fluffy within and we were addicted! The Classico Diavola Pizza ($29) was also very delicious, just not as mind blowing as the fried pizza hahaha

The Maiale or Pork Chops ๐Ÿ– ($48) were good as well, as I never knew pork can be this tender ๐Ÿ˜ they managed to remove the porky odour as well, and pairing it with the mustard was such a good idea!

As for starters, you need to get the Woodfire Sourdough ๐Ÿž ($18) with the Ricotta Dip ๐Ÿง€ ($12). Yes $18 for bread seems ridiculous, but it was an absolute joy to savour. The bread was crispy yet fluffy, with a nice smoked flavour. Pair it with the ricotta dip and you get a beautiful hint of savoury flavours! The temperature contrast between the hot bread and cold cheese was notable as well.

As for the rest, they didn't seem too mind-blowing. Wished the calamari was bigger ๐Ÿ˜‚

Vibes wise they were immaculate โœจ this is definitely a date night spot and is good for celebrations! Do note that they are quite strict on the dining time limit and the waiters are rushing here and there to make sure every request is addressed. Kudos to Aminah, our waitress who was so attentive. We casually mentioned that we ran out of water and next thing we know a new bottle was given ๐Ÿ˜‚

All in all, I felt like this is a great place for a celebration (it can get quite expensive), but not for big groups. As much as some dishes were amazing, you need to pick the right ones.

[MATTAR, SINGAPORE] Don't remember the Circuit Road Hawker Centre being so crowded at night, but there were so many dishes I wanted to try ๐Ÿ˜ among all of them we had 3 that caught our eye:

The Fried Prawn Mee from Tian Seng was like a roller coaster ride; I was shocked & disappointed at the start when I saw that the bigger $5 portion was so small... But once I tried it I fell in love ๐Ÿ˜ the umami prawn & garlic flavour was so intense, and the noodles were cooked just right! Although the wok hei might be slightly lacking, but such intense prawn flavour is really hard to find. This might be one of my top 5!

I've had oyster omelette ($5) from Ghim Guan quite a few times, and the standard remains high. This rendition is wetter than others, but rich in flavours. I love how eggy this whole dish tastes and that the oysters were plump and juicy!

Lastly, the Claypot Chicken Rice ($7) from Nanxing was just decent, felt like there was nothing much to say about the rice. The chicken was very tender and fresh though!

Such a nice place for dinner, with quite a huge variety of stalls to choose from! I think this is a lesser known hawker which you should try visiting ๐Ÿ˜

[LAVENDER, SINGAPORE] Seeing #burpplebeyond offering 1 for 1 skewers at @ganbeibbq.sg, I wanted to check it out and we left without any regrets! Skewers and food dishes ordered were all really delicious, just abit pricey.

Among the many skewers we ordered, my favourites were the beef, enoki bacon and shisamo ๐Ÿ˜ all were well seasoned and yet not too salty! The enoki bacon was perhaps the best I've had yet; the enoki within was so juicy and crunchy and the bacon was crispy yet snappy! Skewers were about $2-3 each.

The Spicy Drypot Cuttlefish ๐Ÿฆ‘ ($19.90) we ordered next was so darn addictive due to its spice and that the cuttlefish was SO fresh and snappy. Really satisfying but you will really need a drink to accompany this LOL

Service was fast as well and I think it can be worth it with the Burpple Beyond 20 for 20 or 30 for 30 skewers! Will be back!

[TELOK AYER, SINGAPORE] @santis.sg serves up Italian fare with interesting twists in a casual yet intimate setting that is great for group catch ups and date nights. Interestingly, we came for pizzas but stayed for their pastas as the latter were much better.

We ordered the Pesto Cream Stracciatella Pasta ๐ŸŒฟ ($22) as I'm a sucker for pesto ๐Ÿคฃ and it delivered WELL. You get a strong punch of the basil aromatics, followed by a nice savoury flavour that it's too overpowering. The cheese makes it rich yet somehow light at the same time, and I totally can finish this by myself. Pastas are made fresh weekly, and you can tell by the nice al dente mouth feel.

The Vodka Sugo & Italian Sausage Pasta ๐ŸŒญ ($24) was another delight to have. The light touch of vodka balanced the cream used, making this a much lighter pasta to have. Minced sausages added a meaty and smoky touch that puts the flavour savoury forward. Absolutely lovely.

The pizzas we ordered unfortunately did not deliver the punch we wanted it to ๐Ÿฅฒ indeed the sourdough crust was chewy and smoky, but the ingredients on top doesn't seem to match well. The Pepperoni & Hot Honey ๐Ÿ• ($30) was way too sweet, Butter Chicken ๐Ÿ— ($28) and Not so Classic Margherita ๐Ÿ… ($24) was not flavourful enough somehow. We managed to add flavour through the homemade chilli garlic oil provided though!

With 20% discounted cash vouchers on Chope, I think it is worth it to come back for their pastas! I've heard that their sides are good as well, so will try more of that next time ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
