SG Restaurant Week Spring 2023 by Dining City Singapore is running its final week this week and Iโ€™m glad to have gone to Boeuf to try its Dinner Set, just at $48++ per pax!

You get a three course set meal, starting with a Burratina di Puglia - perfectly portioned so that you donโ€™t have to share. Pictured is the main, Boeufโ€™s Siganture Aged Ribeye Steak Frites, was well grilled with its medium-rare tender with a slight chew. There was a good amount of flavour and juiciness in the steak, with layers of fat in between. The meal was finished off with a creme brรปlรฉe, a simple creamy and sweet ending that wrapped everything up nicely.

Medium rare rump cap felt a bit too tough to my liking, and the flavours of the meat didnโ€™t come through enough. It mightโ€™ve been rubbed with the basic pepper and salt, but the overall dish felt bland. The vegetables on the side were well-executed though.

A nice savoury side with a thinly coated batter and spice flavours coming through. It had a slight spicy and herbaceous tinge to the batter which was quite enjoyable, but I did think it was a tad dry.

A very well-executed and interesting starter. The sake poached tofu was soft, silky, and lightly coated with a thin fried batter dashed with aonori salt, which gave a nice savouriness to every cube of tofu. The dip was a refreshing combination of century egg and ginger sauce, spring onion and tobiko roe. While I personally couldnโ€™t really put a finger to the complex flavours of the dip, I enjoyed how it paired with the tofu. They have another option of having the tofu with harbanero, but Iโ€™d recommend this pretty unique alternative!

Extremely rich mushroom soup with 4 kinds of different mushrooms - Portobello, Button, and Porcini Mushroom, Grilled Shimeji. Drizzled with a bit of truffle chive oil to give a delightful aroma. the texture of the soup was smooth with a thick consistency. A pretty decent and appetising starter.

This chicken nanban was one of the best versions I have tasted. The chicken was fried till hot and crispy, and the huge chunks were extremely juicy. And the most important factor โ€” the nanban sauce, truly hit the spot. It was a wee tangy, a good amount of creamy, and the generous bits of cucumber and onion in the sauce gave a delightful crunch. Loved how this simple dish combined the sauce and chicken to give such a brilliant flavour. I couldnโ€™t get enough of this!

A nice appetiser for the price, especially with the thinly battered crisp ones. I definitely wished that the oysters were juicer though, as it was a bit on the drier side.

Didnโ€™t intend to get this but looking at how this was so skilfully made behind the glass, I was too enticed. The tamago was light and fluffy, and slightly juicy with each bite. There was a delightful sweet dashi like flavour seeping through the egg layers, and the generous amount of salmon roe added that little seafood tinge to it. Highly recommend if you enjoy tamago!

A fusion of the classic tiramisu with fruits. Actually really enjoyed how this turned out. It was not too sweet a dessert, and the sponge was strong in both espresso and alcohol flavour, retaining a strong tiramisu element even as it was complemented with a light fruitiness.

Compared to their wanton noodles, Iโ€™m more a fan o Mei Yuenโ€™s roasted duck noodles. The duck meat was beautifully roasted with a nice braised flavour, and the duck meat was tender to my liking. The springy egg noodles were doused in a savoury sauce (dark sauce based) which made every mouthful feel like goodness.

Springy wanton noodles at a traditional coffee shop located along Katong. This wanton mee was pretty decent, with a good amount of flavour in every element - the char siew, wantons, and white sauce.

This soup was unexpectedly revitalising, comforting, and nourishing all in one. $7.30 might not seem like a palatable price considering the location, but the richness and creaminess of the soup, on top of the generous amount of ingredients - fish maw, pig stomach, and very tender chicken meat, made this feel like a steal. If you love rich, collagen-like creamy soup, I will highly highly recommend this!
