Iโ€™ve tried almost all the Changi Village Hokkien Mees in Singapore and as for now, the Lor 8 Toa Payoh outlet has my heart. I visited the original outlet at Changi Village itself last week and I was expecting a lot from it (original store mah) but sadly, it fell short of expextations. The noodles were al dente but on the verge of being undercooked (I lowkey didnโ€™t mind this tho, I like hard noodles). Prawn stock used was decent but not as rich as its other counterparts and the wok hei was non existent. Uncle gave me a good amount of lard though, which made me happy. Probably just came on a bad day, I have faith in them.

People always fight over which nasi lemak is better at Changi Village Hawker Centre. My top contender is Mizzy Corner but itโ€™s a hard fight, I really like the others too. This one is from Changi Famous Nasi Lemak which is ironically not as famous as Mizzy Corner or Old School Canteen, but itโ€™s not bad eh. I got the 5th set which is the largest and cost $5. Portion size was good, chicken was Uber crispy, bergadil was sed so and otah did not have a strong fishy smell. Chill was also fantastic โ€” sweet with a spicy kick and not too hot for my weak tastebuds. Only gripe is the egg. Was rubbery and it felt like they left it in the fryer and forgot about it.

After eating the Japanese buffet at Shin Minori, Iโ€™ve come to realise that my buffet stamina is not as fantastic as it was 5 years ago. The last time I had the food here it was meh but now itโ€™s not too shabby leh. Theyโ€™ve seemed to have expanded their menu since the last time Iโ€™ve been here and there are a lot more interesting menu options.

Japanese Curry Express at Fortune Centre has become quite popular for their maki and thicccc salmon but I sadly didnโ€™t enjoy my meal as much as I wanted to. Maki was a let down. $12 for 6 pieces which translates to $2 per piece. Rice was dry and on the harder side and salmon slices, while decent, were meh. For the price point itโ€™s a no go for me.

Bean-to-bar chocolate specialist @lemuelchocolate has finally opened their new outlet one level above their old space. It's x4 the size and has a dine-in cafe area, retail space, open kitchen and even a workshop room for all you folks who wanna learn how to make chocolates. We finally had time to go down and try their food and these were chefs kiss๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

CACAO TEA
I would have never imagined cacao and tea together in a cup but Lemuel did just that. This intruguing drink tastes like a soothing cup of iced tea with a dash of chocolatey goodness. very refreshing and pairs well with the rest of the desserts.

JARDIN
If you love nutty flavours (esp pistachio), this will be up your alley. Jardin is crafted with pistachio ganache, pistachio praline crumble, pistachioo creme and dark chocolate. The earthy pistachio notes hit you first, followed by the rich flavours of the dark chocolate. And those little red spotted details on top are mushrooms (!!)

EDEN (or as I call it, stone)
This beauty won my heart. Carefully crafted with pear curd, pecan, milk chocolate praline and 70% guatemala chocolate mousse, Eden is aptly named after a polished stone that you could probably find from that mystical garden in the bible. I was devastated when I had to cut into it to eat it but doing so also revealed the gorgeous layers within it. Some people have said that it's a tad bit too sweet for their liking but for me, its just nice.

Tried Marmalade Pantryโ€™s sticky date pudding after 2 years and standard has dropped. Itโ€™s still decent but could be better. A shame.

Old Nyonya sits at the bustling Maxwell Food Centre and sells an array of delicious local dishes like laksa, curry chicken and this mad good Rendang Chicken. The rendang sauce was ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป and the chicken was SO. TENDER. I also like how they have extra crispy things at the side for a nice crunch. Defo will be back!

Eleven Strands has A LOT of really good cafe nosh but my favourite is the Grilled Pork Chop ($25). This features a nicely grilled slab of pork accompanied by a side of mashed potatoes, sautรฉed purple cabbage, apple purรฉe and a drizzle of herb jus. I really like the combination of savoury pork with sweet sweet apple purรฉe! The accompanying sauce is also rlly good and adds a nice tang to the dish.

The queues for Sin Chew Satay Bee Hoon are insane! Managed to get to the store before they opened and there was already a queue. The ingredients used are super fresh and we rlly love the nutty sauce so much. Worth the queue!

We love ourselves some jiggly pancakes! The Strawberry Cheese ($14) one from Fluff Stack were so good and we really like how the tartness of the strawberry sauce paired with the creamy cheese cream.
