Fresh pieces of fish with huge chunks of salmon! I found the seasoning too salty though and didn't like the wasabi which had a plastic taste. Still, overall a satisfying meal at only $16!
Finally we are here for beauty in the pot !and yes is hard to make reservation here ,their 3 second bean curd is awesome ,but u will get jelat easily if u eat more than two piece ,not really fancy on their collagen base soup ,I find the pork smell is too strong ,no harm to try if u are boring with HDL ,but I don't think I will be back again for this . Overall rating :3/5
While the peanut butter and foie gras may ply richness of different currencies, their collaboration affords the gustatory equivalent of sweet Bukit Timah prime estate. 4/5

I hope some Japanese friends could answer this nagging question I had for several months. I've Googled but there are different definition, and none is consistent with the barachirashi and chirashi I've been seeing. But the Internet does agree that in Japanese culture, bara means gay. Indeed, bara chirashi is gay - cheerful and colourful due to its play on colours.
.
Dstllry's barachirashi has three types of fishes - salmon, maguro and hamachi. I like that it is slightly lighter in its use of the "secret" seasoning, which I think contains mirin, dashi and shoyu. I'm not a fan of Teppei during the times when they're heavy handed with their sauces (Teppei tend to be inconsistent, depending on how much seasoning they squeeze away from the marinated fishes just before serving).
.
The staff looked grumpy though. The restaurant's industrial theme is cold, though hip, and the black walls are gloomy, though chic. When the hardware lacks warmth, the software could do with a little smile.
Full review on Mrs Pho up this evening. Check it out on www.foodievstheworld.com later!
Nicely cooked chicken slice with mushroom. The mash potato is awesomely smoked with truffles. Chicken herb mixed well with the mash potato.
Boston Lobster is one of the most recommended item on the menu. Given the look of it! It might seems small to you, but no! It's humongous! One of the recommended savory sauce would be 'Caboodle Mix'. It's their signature sauce for a reason! 😄
I must admit, this cafe is a hidden find along east coast road. Bundled with LAN gaming and pool tables, this cafe is set up for a good time. There are hits and misses with their food and drinks but I did fancy their Fried chicken and waffles and pulled pork sandwich. 👍🏻 The rest were so so. But the cafe atmosphere and company made up for it!
Pink Piggy Steamed Custard Bun from Paradise Teochew at Amber Road.
Couldn’t resist the cuteness of these buns – shaped like a piggy and filled with custard and pine seeds. That you can want to pinch it.
No flow in this though, this is a milk yolk ‘nai huang’ custard bun, rather than the molten salted egg yolk type.
There is also aa good mix of popular dim sum items such as Steamed Pork Dumpling “Siew Mai”, Prawn Dumpling “Ha Kau”, Pan-fried Radish Cake and Steamed Spare Ribs with Yam Strips.

Chanced upon this unique BBQ joint, one of the many new-ish eateries along the Tanjong Katong Rd stretch and this place was packed to the rafters on a Saturday night. Naturally I had to come back the next day to give it a try! Supposedly hand massaged, then slow cooked for hours, the succulent meat is tender and fall-of-the-bone, with nary a hint of gristle. The bbq glaze shines(literally and figuratively) with flavoursome, expertly spiced tanginess. The wedge of lime squeezed over is a stroke of genius that simultaneously served to cut through the richness and added a zesty sweetness to the meat when combined with the glaze. I was a little disappointed that fries and coleslaw are considered premium sides here at the cost of an additional $2 each. Free sides include only mash, salad and rice(can't confirm on this). Although primarily a BBQ house, this establishment also curiously enough serves a smattering of Asian dishes such as crispy tofu, eggplant with salted fish and minced pork, and baked rice. One thing you have to try is the chicken rice style chilli sauce and the Naughty Chilli sauce with your ribs. Weird, but it works! $18 for the ribs.
