Do not be deceived by itโ€™s looks. This dessert got the wow factor. I agree with the reviews. Take the first bite and you will understand why so just get it.

You know it is authentic when they do not use cream for their carbonara. The simple combination of bacon, eggs and cheese does not disappoint! The pasta is smoky in flavour and creamy in texture. Do ask the waiter for their separate classic pasta menu.

Baked pork belly stuffed with wild fennel and mustard sauce at the side.

There are definitely better Chinese style roast pork belly (sio bak) out there but this is not bad. The skin is crispy and the meat is fatty. With every bite, there is the aroma of fennel and it pairs well with the mustard sauce that cuts through the fattiness of the pork and gives the dish balance. Definitely worth ordering.

The star of the show is the duck. The skin is very crispy and not greasy. The duck meat is succulent and not dry at all. Even the breast meat is tender and the gamey taste is not strong. Very delicious with the wrap and the sauce.

Other worthy mentions include the Roast Pork Belly which has a thin crispy layer of skin and juicy meat.

The Char Siu is also another highlight of the meal. The meat is unbelievably moist and flavourful.

The remaining duck meat is cooked with Ee Fu noodles. The noodles are stir-fried, not braised but still good. The taste is light but again delicious.

My family enjoyed the dinner and service was great. Do order the Peking duck in advance to avoid disappointment.

Got this aesthetic cake for my brotherโ€™s birthday ๐ŸŽ‚

The cake itself is rich with a nutty pistachio flavour and the texture is dense yet moist. However, the cream is a tad salty.

If you like cakes that are rich and dense, Chalk Farmโ€™s cakes will probably be to your liking.

A rainy evening is a sign for ramen. It is chicken broth but still a solid bowl of ramen.

The flavour is lighter than most ramen that I had before but I still enjoyed it. It is served with some seaweed, spring onions, jammy ramen egg and Chashu. The broth is packed with chicken goodness and the noodles are thin but springy.

Overall, it is slurpworthy. There is no dinner crowd too on a Sunday night.

You know the place is good when they mainly serve ramen. Pleasant greetings with beansprouts at the side and free flow of hard boiled eggs. Service is great.

The onsen egg is runny and delicious. The chashu is soft and tender. Noodles are springy with a nice bite. But the star of the show is definitely the tonkotsu broth. Rich, salty and exploding with umami with every mouthful.

Delicious. Worth another visit.

Come before 6:30pm to beat the dinner crowd.

Found this hidden gem at Changi. There is a mountain of choices to choose from the halal menu. From Zi Char, Dim Sum to Western, Malay and Indian cuisine, you will be spoiled for choices.

The food is not that fantastic but sinful and good enough for supper. Prata, Roti John and Maggi Goreng is okay. Satay and Otah is actually not bad. Go for the Wheat Grass Bandung to quench your thirst from the high sodium meal.

Overall, it is actually a great place to just chill and eat with your family and friends.

At first glance, what caught my eye was the thick and chunky assortment of cubed sashimi and the generous portion of fish!

The egg yolk was not just for aesthetic purposes, but enhance the texture when mixed well with the sushi rice, making every bite silky and smooth. The chilli padi also adds a spicy kick to it.

Freshness is a priority for sashimi, and this humble eatery nailed it. There were no fishy smell and taste, which was a good sign.

Some Japanese restaurants overdo it with the marination of the fish but the flavour was balanced in this Chirashi Don and not too over-powering. If you prefer a stronger flavour for your Chirashi Don, you can always ask for soya sauce at the side but I do not recommend putting too much as it covers the clean flavours of the fresh fish.

The Spicy Chirashi Don also comes with a salad and miso soup at the side. For those with a bigger appetite, do order their Tamago Mentaiko ($3.90) which was delicious too. Get their unsweetened iced green tea ($1.50) that is refillable to cleanse your palate between bites.

A delightful lunch at a hidden gem.

Lauded as one of the best Cantonese restaurants in Singapore, Man Fu Yuan that is located in InterContinental Hotel does not disappoint.

This Michelin recommended Chinese restaurant helm by executive chef Aaron have a interesting menu that blends tradition with subtle western influence.

I am personally impressed with this particular dish, Minced pork dumplings, prawns, baby abalone, avruga caviar. There are 10 dishes in total and this was my favourite in the dim sum lunch set.

The contrast in textures and the balance of flavours still makes me dream if I can have one more bite!

Caviar, a ingredient commonly found in French cuisine, surprisingly goes well with the traditional Siew Mai. The caviar does not make the dish pretentious, but instead was elevated with respect to the culture and the ingredients used.

Very enjoyable dining experience and excellent service with food that is praiseworthy.

Decent matcha shaved ice that pairs well with the red bean and mochi toppings at the side. The sweetness is just nice and there is a slight bitterness which gives it the character of Japanese green tea.

Matchaholics might want their matcha to be more intense but overall this matcha dessert is not bad. Worth a try after a meal.

Green Tea Croissant ($5.20)

I have been looking forward to this croissant. There is a hint of matcha but it probably will not satisfy most matchaholics. However, it is not too sweet and the texture is great for a croissant!

Kouign Amann ($4.50)

Flaky, buttery and with the flavours of caramel, this is worth the calories and highly recommended! Will definitely buy again!

Lemon Tart ($7.50)

Tangy and not too cloying, there is a nice tart to it and every bite was delightful. Some might find it sour but I love it!
