Let's just say that Joe's has become the Burpple team's absolute favourite Thai restaurant. This humble little Thai kitchen opened by Joe and Jamie in 2006 boasts super flavorful Tom Yum soup that has just the right amount of spice and tang, and big portions of juicy, fragrant pandan chicken for extremely reasonable prices. Order your usual favourites; Joe's does almost anything really well. If you're a fan of Thai Fried Vermicelli, you won't want to miss theirs. Cool down with a glass of Thai Iced Tea, then end off with the Mango Sticky Rice. Albeit a little far at Bukit Merah, it's worth the trip!

The spagetti in cream sauce with black pepper sauce sausages was yummy. The cream sauce was generous but it was a bit bland

Le Steak by Chef Amri aims to be an affordable family-friendly steakhouse. Popular items include their Grilled Chicken, Sirloin Steak and Seared Salmon, all priced reasonably below $20. Even the desserts of Lemon Tart or Creme Brulee are a hit at under $10. If you're in the Jalan Kayu area, this is the perfect place for dinner with your loved ones. Emerlyanna says, "Best (halal) steak for me. Tender and juicy meat, y'know, the kind of juiciness that explodes in your mouth plus extra thumbs up for the mashed potatoes"! *Halal-certified

Perfect for a date night or an intimate catch-up with friends, J's serves Latin American-inspired cuisine in a cosy setting. Begin your meal with breaded jalapenos stuffed with mozarella, served with creamy guacamole. Move on to a dish of comforting Adobo chicken and warm tortillas, or melt-in-your-mouth braised lamb shank. *Halal-certified

A brand new cafe on the block, what's best is that they're Muslim-owned ;) See what Burppler Daniel has to say "Awesome food paired with travel adventures in this 2-day old café. I love the laid-back hippy vibe and the fact that there's no pressure to finish our food, unlike other hipster cafe where there's a constant line. Really hoping that this cafe won't be packed the next time I visit" #rouseondunlop

Holqa uses beans from Geisha Specialty Coffee, which has nutty notes aside from being creamy.

Rich, creamy vanilla bean cream encased in light, crispy, airy choux pastry. Pantler kick things up a notch by adding crunchy almond brittle in the cream. What a pleasant surprise!

The only gastropub in Singapore to offer 15 "seasonal" craft beers on tap – they're stocked in limited quantities so once sold out, it's near impossible to taste the same brews again – and incorporate beer in just about all their dishes. These are two of the hottest faves: a thick lipsmacking dip of crabmeat, Worcestershire sauce, cream cheese, sour cream and India pale ale (IPA) served with nachos; moist fillets of snapper soaked in ale before being battered and fried and dished up with garlic fries. In both dishes, the subtle bitterness of the beer adds another layer of complexity that I found quite refreshing and very addictive.

This was some solid fillet - juicy, meaty and perfectly seasoned. Oh, and the mash was no sidekick, too.

Back for their spicy variation and i have to say I'm not disappointed. You can customise saltiness of soup, oil level and also noodles hardness. I had low oil, low saltiness and soft noodles and i love it!
