5/5 (rlly couldn’t find fault)
Located at Platform M, a food hall at Paya Lebar. Left with a mind BLOWINGGG experience. I ordered the beef slices ($8.80) that comes with 3 choices of noodles (glass noodles, egg noodles & mama noodles) & a HUGE piece of radish & coriander which zh’ng the whole dish. Added fried garlic to my soup & just A LIL chilli (was informed that their chilli is VERY spicy & it truly was, DO NOT add their chilli like your typical wanton mee chilli 🤣). The soup was so so so good that I managed to convince my table of 6 to order it. It has that umami in it & will DEFINITELY go back for more (this means a lot considering I stay in the FARRR west & am an adventurous person who almost doesn’t try the same thing twice)
2/5
after the first visit, was pretty excited to try their onion soup and other menu items but left the restaurant being disappointed
Onion soup: though full of flavours from the beef stock, tastes more like a beef soup rather than onion soup
Basil Chicken Pasta & SioBak pasta was so so disappointing, both lacked of flavour and seasoning (the chef probably forgot about the salt or smth...), so so so unlike the KungPao Pasta i’ve tried the other time
salted egg fries: sauce tastes more like lemon sauce n topped with salted egg powder
comes with prawns, squid & some mini scallops. kung pao sauce comes with a kick, loved how spicy it was!! my friend had the pulled pork burger ($15.90) that came with kimchi apple slaw i think!! it was served with truffle fries yums!!!! would definitely head back & try their beef onion soup (hearsay the soup is cooked for 15hours!!! imagine all that essence)
Soft Shell Crab burger comes with a huge slice of pineapple in it that i feel overpowered the entire dish. Soft shell crab was a lil too salty & wasn’t crispy enough :-(
HOWEVER, when they describe it at “Handmade Juicy Chicken Meatball Linguine” they really meant JUICY. Love that they added basil to elevate the dish into another level.
Not a fan of sesame in general (not fair for me to be commenting but my friend likes it being pretty rich!). Honey Earl Grey cake is too sweet for me & it’s on the denser side.
It’s a very aesthetically pleasing place that looks very clean & simplistic. Overall, giving a premium feel to their place. Good place to chill with a book or just casually hanging out with your girlfriends!!
My favourite cakes EVER!! Love that the tofu cheesecake was rich but not jelak (light in palette, especially since the strawberry jelly was pretty refreshing & balance the entire cake!!). I love the lychee rose (I order it everytime i’m there), strong rose fresh cream (lighter in palette compared to buttercream & i enjoy it a lot). could have more lychee but overall a very good place especially when it’s sooo pretty!!
Started with a crab salad & a shared platter. Food was pretty underwhelming. Flavour of aglio olio could be stronger, mash potato (under lobster) was bland, chicken could be more tender. :’-)
ooooo i like how the rice came warm & it kinda warmed up the fish. comfy to the belly hehe. tuna was kindaaaaaa fishy (may be biased, not rlly a huge tuna fan) but try it w the kaisen don sauce for the extra flavour hehe
SEAFOOD AGLIO OLIO ($15.90): my highlight of the day!!!! that garlic punch it gave added so many layers to the dish. i enjoyed the crispy garlic slices so so much. definitely a btr aglio olio compared to others!!!
BERRIES PANCAKE (can’t rmb): This i rmb, was super light, super fluffy, not very sweet. feels a lot like the castella cake!!! love it
EGGS BENEDICT ($14.90): served with crispy hash (tasted a lot like chips in fries form). first eggs benedict cus m not an egg person but i enjoyed it
INDIAN CHURROS ($4.90): fried prata in the shape of churros with cinnamon sugar. tasted like normal churros but u get the after taste of the prata. kinda cool but i would prefer the soft centre of the regular churros
you get lots of refillable banchan for an order. portion is great, price is a on the higher side :’-) the dish is FREAKING cold which makes it very refreshing but it’s kinda toooooo coooold to finish the entire thing. ultimately, i’m a hot soup person :’-) overall i love the flavours a lot (ps i loveeeee kimchi) - sour & savoury - what more can i say!!
Do not expect a typical matcha ice cream because IT. IS. NOT. It has this roasted flavour like those in hojicha latte!!!! probably too sweet for me/ melts too quickly but the flavour wins it all!!!! wew
ordered champpong with the level 2 spice level. there was enough PUNCH in the flavours and the spice. There is this charred taste to it that adds more depth to the soup!!! Ro Ppong Roje is a tomato cream base ppong topped with mozzarella cheese. Tasted more like a pasta dish (the red and white sauce) more than a ppong, but flavours were on point!!
