Had a great catch-up with friends over tacos at Afterwit!

Loved my order of Birria Beef Taco ($20). Beefy, cheesy, oh-so-juicy and a tinge tangy-sweet with the salsa. Generously filled with well-seasoned meat and melted mozzarella, the charcoal tortillas (said to be prepared fresh daily) were pretty nifty to pick up as well - holding the moist filling nicely and providing tender-chewy bites though tbh I still made quite a mess. The lamb consomme served on the side was delightfully umami too, giving the comforting meat flavours a boost.

this was really good!! i got the beef option (you can also choose lamb or chicken) and they gave a pretty decent amount of beef (although its not really obvious in the picture). also served with lamb consomme which was the ✨highlight✨ to me because it was made so well and so flavourful! the shop itself also had really nice and rustic vibes 🤩🤩

Soft shell tacos usually aren't up my alley but in this case I didn't mind. On the pricier end for tacos at $15 for 2 but they were filling and well worth the pricetag imo.

My friend ordered this for me as a takeaway and they were generously filled with pulled beef and cheese, just the right amount of savory and spicy. The whole dish is an umami explosion, in a good way, and I found it funny that they included quail eggs—a first for me, but they didn't really do anything flavor wise. It is served with some soft onions on the side and tomato purée in which I enjoyed dipping my tacos in.

My only complaint...... This was a takeaway and the dish, overflowing with gravy and meat is incredibly messy to eat. I really wish they provided cutlery without being asked because I had to eat this in a public work area and I just hope to god no one saw me while I was eating this. They did provide 4 napkins along with the order however, which I found myself needing for the meal.

Ordered the chipotle chicken & garlic mushroom couscous burrito bowls. A little towards the bland side so if you’re looking for something healthier...this might be it!

Slightly on the pricier side as the food wasn’t spectacular. Lamb was dry, cheese and guacamole could have more. Tried their tacos as well and it wasn’t extremely good, and my friend mentioned that previously it was better.

Coffee braised beef and could really taste the slight bitterness to the dish and it felt weird. Meat chunks were nice and tender + there were other more chewy parts too.

Thought the tacos were a little bit oily so we felt a bit jelak mid-way.

Still feel the octopus tacos are their best - flavour combo spicy and sour with the octopus cooked perfectly is just yumz.

10/10 would come back here again just for this.

Initially was a bit skeptical because we don’t always hear of octopus in tacos but this turned out really great! Octopus was nice and tender and blended really well with the other flavours.

Firstly, the nachos took at least 10 minutes after our food to come despite being the easiest to make and repeated reminders. Secondly, I wasn't too impressed either because the amount of cheese in this is lacking. We already ordered extra nacho cheese in the dish but all I could taste was crumbly feta.

This burrito had a reasonable amount of chicken inside but wasn't much to shout about. Quite enjoyable if you like a stuffed chicken burrito!

This taco boasts coffee-braised beef but the coffee taste wasnt very strong -- only a semblance of a slightly nutty and bitter flavour remained. Some of the meat chunks were very juicy and tender but the parts with tendons were quite chewy.

Had to wait more than 1h and the waitress kept 'forgetting' that I was in front of the queue but oh well, the food was good.

The ban me tacos was quite full of flavour. The stringy beef was quite tender and I appreciated the fried onions at the side. The feta cheese gave the taco a bit of a Mediterranean dimension but it all came together quite well.

💵: $16.90

🤔: The chicken was dry and tough, but made slightly better when dunked into the gravy or whatever sauce it was that they provided. Guac was also a dark brownish-green, either overripe or oxidised. Nachos were oily but strangely addictive. Wouldn't recommend this tbh, but worth a try if you are into fusion and wanna take a chance.

we had the mushroom quesadilla , beef burrito and the bowl of nachos🌮🥙 definitely worth the indulgence!

💵: $12.90

🤔: The tacos here are definitely better than the burrito bowl, but would have been better if the hard shells were available. The chipotle mayo on it gave it a nice kick of spice which made the slightly bland cod taste so much better.

- messy as juice was flowing out of the taco skin

Went there because of the burpple 1 for 1, and it becomes more affordable!! Ordered two tacos, Cod Fish and Pulled Beef. I felt that the pulled beef was rather ordinary, however the beef serving was generous. The Cod Fish was the best!!! I would love to have pics to show, but I have gobbled it up and its gone!!

The bad part was the ambience and waiting time as some have pointed out. It seems that they are short staffed at the point of visit.

I balked at my friends’ suggestion to order wasabi mayo shrimp burrito ($15.90+), because why order fusion at a mexican joint?! But my skepticism was unfounded and this proved surprisingly good - the prawns were fresh and the mayo a burst of spicy tangy flavour. Also tried this in a bowl, rather than the traditional wrap: the components were slightly different, with slaw being a big component. Wasn’t a big fan of that but I did like the flavoured rice in the bowl more than in the burrito! Again, this is a good deal under burpple beyond but I would love to see more options available for redemption.

This chipotle chicken burrito ($15.90+) sure packs a punch. Filled to the brim with guacamole and mexican rice, the chicken was tender and well seasoned. The burrito was also stuffed with black beans, salsa and spices. A good meal (and halal to boot) especially with burpple beyond, but would love to see more options available for redemption! The restaurant is also pleasantly empty on a weeknight, but service can be a little slow and the music loud.

Tried this place with Burpple 1 for 1 (2 tacos) great value!! We ordered the cod tacos and the pulled beef. The cod tacos were really good! Amazing chipotle mayo really makes the dish. The beef tacos were too sweet for us, but improved with hot sauce. Generous portion of beef though! Love the ambience.

A halal Mexican eatery serving tacos, burritos and burrito bowls which is also on Burpple Beyond. However, the Butter Chicken Bowl is on the exclusions list so we ordered that separately.

After ordering, we were informed that the food would take approximately 15 minutes to be served. Quite a long wait for a restaurant that’s not very crowded, but overall not too bad. The food was served warm but not hot, so I guess it wasn’t freshly cooked.

Afterwit puts a spin on Mexican food by incorporating local flavours as evident in the butter chicken flavour. In addition, long grain biryani rice is used which adds to the flavour of the bowl. I thought that the taste of the thick butter chicken gravy was good, but the chicken itself was on the dry side. For $16, the amount of chicken was also quite sparse, but the tomato salsa and cucumber salad were not bad, and the whole dish was quite good overall. While I wouldn’t pay $16 for a bowl or burrito again, I’d consider coming back with a friend to use the 1-for-1.
