On 21 Oct 2023 @12.40pm Ah Yat Seafood Restaurant (Sims Way) delivered the Suckling Pig, Shark Fin & Seafood Set ($864 for 6 pax).
The Fried Sea Prawns with Spicy Sauce was stale, the prawns were unfresh, texture was mushy and slimy and emitted rancid aroma. The family felt unwell and nauseous after eating it.
We provided feedback to Miss Angie Sim (the restaurant coordinator), she denied the issues raised and offered a refund of $16 (which she stated as the cost of the prawns). We declined the offer as the amount was insignificant as compared to the total cost of the package. Instead we asked for the restaurant to do a replacement, which had no issues, a contradiction to Miss Sim’s claims.
Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience, and we will not be ordering from them again. Hope this experience serves as a caution for people looking to purchase from the restaurant.
Went to Ah Yat Seafood restaurant (at Sims Way) for dimsum. Decent food! Love the crispy fish skin and deep fried banana and red bean.

Great selections of seafood at reasonable prices.
Dinner set was good at $78++ per pax.
Finally get to try out Empurau fish, the most expensive freshwater river fish which are considered so rare and tasty that they are referred to as "The Unforgettable Fish" (忘不了鱼) in Chinese.
However, the only thing that's unforgettable would be the price of $33/100g. This $800 fish doesn't taste as legendary as described on other websites.😤

Alaska King Crab is up to standard, juicy tender and all, but well, that's how they are supposed to be, nothing fanciful, no surprises, just plain boiled for the natural sweetness.

Love the sweet sauce, and while I'm OK with it some friends found it jelat (well he had two whole plates though). Despite the colour and chili it's not very spicy at all.
Pork ribs were quite tender and bouncy, with loads of flavour. There's a lot of bones though and some pieces of yam hidden amongst the ribs
Don't get this. No flavour at all. Their seafood varieties are much more worth it and scrumptious
Loaded with prawns, the filling was a mix of prawn and meat. Really tender and flavourful, worth it during the 50% off. The small amount of fish roe doesn't really make a difference though
Didn't get a picture of the scallop dim sum but that one is completely filled with prawns. Utterly delicious and worth it too
Delicious! Enjoyed it a lot for the savoury "jam" in the middle and even had two packets. Can be slightly filling though so don't order one portion to share first
Good as well. Skin was quite slippery, and the chives taste was pronounced yet not pungent. Mixed with fish paste. Solid option for chives lovers
Unlike the normal 马来糕,here you can see distinct layers with a zesty flavour in the middle. Really soft and spongy as well, loved by the entire table.
Having our mother's day celebration here. It's crowded. Our reservation are early booked. We ordered quite a number of dishes here. Their noodle is good. We also ordered yam, baos and vegetables. Duck meat too. It is really filling. Not bad.
Sadly, their standard has dropped and some dishes were even served cold! Hence didn't bother taking other items which I have ordered.
My family's favourite kind of sashimi on top of salmon is geoduck - a kind of large sized clam. Some people call it Elephant's Trunk because of how it looks! There's different textures throughout the whole clam - from the softer and heavier tasting parts to the crunchier and refreshing ones. Other than having it as sashimi, top up $10 to get a pot of hot boiling chicken soup for a quick dip. Sashimi is so much better though!
Generous pot of sharks fin in its traditional flavor, good break from all the modern twists and have a taste of it again.
One of my favorite dishes from the classics. The sauce was thick and gooey, and that its being absorbed by the ingredients especially the mushroom when its simmered. With all that checked, this meant the dish is handled well.
