Apart from their stellar Korean fried chicken, Ahtti’s Seafood Pancake ($14) is a must-order. Fried to utter perfection, the dish was served piping hot and not greasy at all. Chock-full of vegetables and seafood, the pancake’s ultra-crisp edges were so satisfying. I also love the fact that it was of a slightly thinner variant thus it wasn’t too doughy or cloying and retained its crunch. The shrimps and chunks of squid were fresh tasting and provided a nice chew too.

Hidden Gem in the West?

Calling Westies that loves Korean Fried Chicken!
I wanna thank my best friend for always discovering hidden gems and sharing them with me ☺️

I absolutely love this chill place, their fried chicken were fried to crispy goodness with burst of flavour in each bite. My go to order is the Boneless Chicken — Ganjang flavour. One day when I have enough courage to try the Chilli Padi, I will update you all.

My other must order when I go is Kimchi Pancake. No word to describe, it’s just a must. If nobody wants to share with me then I will have that by myself.

I tried Zzolmyeon (not in picture) for the first time and it was pretty good, portion was really huge.

Perfectly deep fried, not overly greasy and they even give you pickled radish cubes so that it doesn’t get too surfeited. Between the original and spicy sweet yangnyeom flavour, I am for the OG of the original.

Ahtti Korean Chicken has been making its way around social media lately - for good reason too. If our Burppler's reviews are any indication, this new Korean fried chicken joint in Jurong East is worth travelling for. Burppler Xing Wei Chua says the Honey Butter Fried Chicken "was pretty memorable and quite worth making the trip." Coming in servings of either half (8pcs) or whole (16pcs), you have a choice of boneless, whole bird, or wings and drumettes. He adds that "the batter is satisfyingly crisp without being overly thick."

Had noticed the fried chicken from Ahtti making its rounds across social media — pretty surprised how the space was actually rather empty on a weekday night, possibly due to its pretty remote location in Jurong East at Vision Exchange; a mixed-use development near Jurong East MRT Station which is more of an office building and located slightly away from the cluster of malls in the area.

Glad to say that the fried chicken here is pretty much worth the hype — the Honey Butter Fried Chicken is one that was pretty memorable and quite worth making the trip at least for me. Coming in servings of either half (8pcs) or whole (16pcs) with a choice of boneless, whole bird or wings and drumettes, we went for the wings and drumettes in the whole portion size. Liked how the fried chicken are pretty well-sized here; a pretty manageable portion size to be shared between two — the batter also being satisfyingly crisp without being overly thick, which some places tend to serve the variation of Korean Fried Chicken in to boost the crispiness of the batter. The Honey Butter variant comes sprinkled in a honey butter seasoning that gives the fried chicken extra aesthetic appeal; a “snowy” look whilst carrying a good balance of sweet-savoury notes without feeling doused in too much MSG — at least there wasn’t an apparent thirsty feeling lingering, making this fairly easy to finish. A pretty good rendition of Korean Fried Chicken that is worth making the trip!

With solid Korean fried chicken delivered right to my doorstep, Ahtti was one of the best finds during Circuit Breaker. Thanks, Zhi Hui! Crisp, crunchy, moist and utterly flavourful, their Ganjang Boneless Whole Chicken ($34) was really toothsome and morish. Of course, I am partial to the boneless option as I always found wings and drumlets to be a hassle to eat. Hence, perfect for my K-drama marathons, each chunk was also bursting with the natural flavour of chicken and great with the lick of savoury-sweetness from the coating of soy! The glaze was slightly sticky but well-balanced. The batter was not greasy, tasted light even with the sauce, and retain it’s crunchiness hours later. Each order also comes with a can of Coke and pickled radish. I can once again say "West side best side"!
