More Reviews of good food at Angelina (MBS)

Founded in 1903 by Antoine Rumpelmayer and named after his daughter Angelina, this French Parisian café epitomises gourmet charm and elegance.
.
Their signature drinking chocolate, named "L'Africain", is thick, creamy smooth, and rich velvety. Has robust bitter sweet chocolatey flavour.
.
Served in a mini pitcher, good for 2 cups. Best savoured slowly.

meringue, light whipped cream, chestnut cream vermicelli

Their onion soup is pretty nice and flavourful. I would have preferred a large piece of cheese toast but I guess considering its Mbs, it's still quite ok at $19.

Like their version of escargots. Seems to be cover with a bread crust and bake till the outside is crispy and the flesh inside is quite tender. It is pricy at $22 but I am will to pay because quite tasty.

I think it taste like tea with some fruity undertones. I still is average and pricy at $12 a cup.

Sorry Angelina fans. This is not my type of hot chocolate. Although the richness of the dark chocolate is present, I prefer a creamier milky version. It just seem alittle diluted to me. I still prefer Mr Bucket and Wimbly Lu's version. Beside it cost $16, abit to pricy for that type of taste.

What an interesting name sound like a body part. Tastewise, I like this alot because it tastes like the hazel nut cream of the ferrero rocher with being too thick and heath. The choux pastery could have been crispier it has gone soft to provide a nicer contrast. If I have lost of spare cash I would love to eat this more frequently because it's quite nice. But at $17, I can easily see many others saying it might not be really worth that amount. Still a subjective point of view depending on who you ask.

We ordered the chestnut, caramel, raspberry and rose. Damage is $13.So far the decent tasting ones are the rose and caramel. It's pretty average if you as me. Nothing bad just not spectacular. I prefer to spend my money on other pastries.

While most people would go for their signature pastry from the menu, I personally much prefer to go with my own favourite of pistachio.

Made with multi levels of pistachio mousse and chocolate biscuit, topped with pistachio icing and cocoa crisp.

Although the price could be much higher, but the taste is strong especially the pistachio.

Caesar Salad - $18

Romaine lettuce base tossed with Caesar dressing. Salad is topped with chicken fillet, bacon, parmesan cheese & croutons. Portion is rather filling. A refreshing choice before tucking into their cakes

While we can’t be overseas, we can still indulge in a relaxing afternoon break at Angelina. Situated by the canal in MBS, it is an ideal spot to rest our feet, sip some chocolate and let our imagination transport us to Paris (close enough😂)✨

Here we have their afternoon tea set for 2 which comes with:
* An assortment of mini pastries
* Several savoury items
* 1 eclair - choose between raspberry, caramel or chocolate
* 2 Financiers - choose between original, chocolate and pistachio
* Choice of tea, coffee or hot chocolate
*The difference between the single and 2 pax tea set is the addition of eclair and financiers.

Tbh, this has got to be one of the more unfriendly sharing tea set (that we’ve had)😂Unlike most high tea set, Angelina serves only 1 of each item so we had to pick which items we want and we can’t really share them as it was rather petite. On this note, we do appreciate that there isn’t an overwhelming amount of food in their tea set which may result in some form of food wastage😌

We love the ambience, the quality of the food and for the price, it’s pretty worth it!They also have an extensive breakfast/ mains menu which we’re really intrigued by and may be back to try them someday💃

Don’t flame me for paying $18 for an egg please. Angelina’s 𝙏𝙧𝙪𝙛𝙛𝙡𝙚 𝙊𝙢𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚 (~$18) was the right consistency and all, but not a $18 for eggs kinda goodness.

Wobbly on the outside, and melty on the inside, Angelina certainly did know how to whip up a solid omelette. Though perhaps labelling ‘truffle’ on it ain’t quite right.... Sure, I smelt a faint truffle scent, but taste wise, barely anything. This begs the question: how much are you willing to pay for an egg? 🍳

Still dreaming of this luscious cup of hot chocolate🍫 with cloud-like cream on the side to dial down the richness to your preference.

This came complimentary🤩 with every main ordered because of an ongoing promo.

Definitely one of the better mushroom soups I’ve had! And not to be dramatic but I’d gladly have this anyday 👌🏼

My closest ticket to Paris right now. Wrapped in thick chestnut vermicelli🌰, which oddly reminded me of red bean paste, it didn’t exactly WOW me despite being their signature pastry. I wasn’t a fan of the sweet meringue either 🤷🏻‍♀️
