Located in a corner of Tanjong Pagar, this place can be abit difficult to find. But it is well worth the trip here! Limited seating is available so there may be a queue. The Beef Sukiyaki Don $14.90 comes in a set with side dish and soup. The chef cooks the dish right in front of you. Very yummy and filing!

Wanted to try this Keisuke concept since it opened, and so glad I finally managed to pop down! I love the concept, where you sit at a cosy counter and they cook the thinly sliced beef and assemble this delicious bowl in front of you. Also, the service is super friendly and impeccable, along with the spot-on decor and ambience.

I opted for the cheaper of the two beef dons on the menu. ($14.90). The bowl consists of Koshihikari rice decorated with 110grams of beef, shimeiji mushroom, tofu, glass noodles, leeks and spring onions. The beef is done to a blushing medium rare. In addition, you get an onsen egg (with a beautiful bright orange yolk), miso soup, mini chawanmushi and access to free flow pickles and ginger. For the price it's such a steal. They also pour the Sukiyaki beef juices into a little sauce dish at the side so you can pour over your rice as you wish to flavor it.

The beef is so tender, sweet and delicious, but not too fatty. Goes beautifully with the fluffy rice. The egg also was a stunner with that delicious creamy yolk. Would definitely drop by again, especially with its proximity to my gym. ๐Ÿ˜

Tried the wagyu one before, its not worth, you will be better off with this (14.9) and an extra portion of beef (11) which is what i did. Double the meat, yet still cheaper than the wagyu.

The beef sukiyaki don is a marriage between beef sukiyaki and gyudon. One can choose from two choices of a 120g serving of beef - US Prime Beef ($14.90++) and Kagoshima Kuroge Wagyu A4 ($29.90++). Top ups are available.

What else is in the bowl? Koshihikari rice, sukiyaki sauce, shimeji mushrooms, tofu braised in sukiyaki and shirataki.

Iโ€™m a sucker for wagyu. Although both the standard US Prime and Kagoshima wagyu versions are prepared the same way and have the same ingredients, I must say that the wagyu version wins hands down. The marbling, the tenderness, the flavour does bring the best out of this humble bowl.

How does this stack up with the numerous Keisuke concepts out there? It certainly lived up to my expectations and Iโ€™d recommend it as a place for a quick beef bowl fix without breaking your bank account.

Ordered their normal beef version and did not regret. Juicy and tender sliced beef cooked in sukiyaki style. Topped with other ingredient such as big slice of braised toufu, mushroom and assortment of vegetables. Super awe by how Keisuke can manage to maintain so many outlets selling different food.

Sumptuous, wholesome meal consisting of a gyu don, chawanmushi, onsen egg, miso soup and free flow pickles and radish! All for $17.50 after GST and service charge!!! Donโ€™t underestimate the gyu don which came with beef, cabbage, mushrooms and braised tofu as well as additional sukiyaki sauce on the side for maximal enjoyment ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Came on a Friday evening and there was just a short queue (waited about 20min!) Do note that there are only counter seats but this made the entire dining experience very fun as we got to watch the chefs cook our gyu dons in front of us.
