The true star of this dish is the crispy fried mantou crowning the bed of eggplant. Lightly battered and fried, the slightly sweet and fluffy interior made for the perfect vessel for the eggplant (quite frankly, for anything), which took a backseat in this dish. Our request to purchase more mantous was politely, but decisively, refused. Clearly not the first time they’ve had such a request. Okay, we get it. Us customers cannot always have our ways.
Price is abit ridiculous for literally one piece of scallop(delicious as it was). The black rice was well cooked and the creamy sauce went well. It's almost comfort food though, as much as I undst theres probably quite a lot of R&D involved. The slight tang and heat in the broth worked well. Squid was v smoky and crunchy.
Risotto or muifan? The most accurate description is glutinous black rice in broth, that's exactly what it is and that's exactly what it tastes like. Though the similarity w risotto is there
Really love the dishes here! It’s very delicious and Creative just a bit pricy
Dishes are slightly more pricey than usual cafes/ restaurants but definitely worth it! $40+/pax with mains & sides. Tried a few of their dishes - the cheesy risotto & pasta r great!
Not the biggest fan of pasta bolo, but will say this one is a solid 9/10 angel hair pasta bolo, very appetising with the bird of meat and kale. Yummmmoooo
Love BOAF!!!!! I’ve been there so many times, great for weekday lunches and even in the weekends for dinner. The good old slime shine noodles are BOSS! Must order I also love their Sichuan spicy chicken, fortune skewers were okay wouldn’t order again
